Technically, he could do that even if he banned one person. Nick put himself in this position by choosing these principles. Would recommend adopting a more sensible application of principles (like free speech) that won't ruin his life (as suggested by Null in August).

Dealing with people misrepresenting you is (unfortunately) a part of being an internet personality. Nick shouldn't expect a pass in this area, and he comes across as an entitled do-nothing for trying to avoid responsibility for his own image online. It's hard work. Just put in the effort, Nick. It will get easier when you learn to stop sabotaging yourself.

Historically, the free speech absolutism concept didn't necessarily mean "allow literally all speech" the way nick seems to apply it. There were still restrictions even among the original coiners of the term. While I'd agree with nicks position that speech restriction gets gay quick, you're never going to please everyone. Except there's a reason that they say free speech protections don't apply to individuals interacting with other individuals (or in this case someone interacting with you on social media) vs why there's a good argument for forcing speech on the social media companies. Nobody has the right to sit in front of you for hours and make you listen to their shit. You individually choosing to ban someone from your community is markedly different from them being banned off the wider platform.
