Dead Space Thread

You do get armor like mid game, and it makes your inventory larger, but yeah, it's not a like main thing of the game. It's just kinda an outfit change for the MC. I think the combat is pretty fun and you can basically play it like a fighting game in a way, but it's just not as interesting as Dead Space. I think there is potential to be expanded on, but it really just made me want to play the Dead Space remake even more.
I actually thought the prison uniform was more interesting. Especially as it got filthy, torn up, and bloodied as you made your way out of the prison. It was genuinely disgusting to look at as you made it to the last area before you got the suit.

I never thought the suit variety was what dead space needed though. The most disappointing part of Callisto is the lack of enemy variety and how little enemy encounter variety there is.
It's also noticeably shorter than all the dead space games while having less variety.

I read dead space salvage

It's a mixed bag. I like the imagery but the same time its so weird and abstract its difficult to tell where the hell anything or anyone is in relation to each other. The plot has a good premise
but it's rather predictable. After DS1 the isumura drifts into a warpgate (Yeah they have those apparently) next to a bunch of salvagers, they board it to loot while trying to figure out what happened. they find a handful of marker shards embedded in the hull and the religious guy goes crazy and activates them.

Nobody's really that memorable or interesting aside from maybe the main character, who somehow manages to survive and escape no strings attached. Although it does contain the only other appearance of the oracles aside from the DS2 DLC. I used to think they were cool until I realized they were basically a rip off of the blue gloves from firefly.

Do we have any leaks on the DS1 remake plot yet?

There you go

Also Sphere just sucks as this game, holy shit. The skill in the footage is DSP level bad.

"Launch" trailer dropped a couple hours go, nothing too interesting though.
It does show some shots of the colony and Hive Mind though, and if they decide to expand some areas the colony would be the best place for it. In the OG it was little more than dragging the Marker down a rail and killing necros that trigger lockdowns.

"But it has to be 3x photorealistic! muh graffix d0000d!! Gameplaaay? Dats rayciist"

They recycled the cut grabber enemy from DS1 and used it a ton in callisto. To no one's surprise it was just as unfun as it supposedly was back then to the point where they cut it from Dead space completely. It was a shapeshifting alien parasite similar to the necromorphs. Its clear anyone even close to the guy who was making all the freaky varying monster designs like DS2's puker was not with them when making Callisto.

They did say they were adding optional side areas to at least the Ishimura. The guns don't feel like they have as much impact as they did in the original games. Even the plasma cutter had some recoil to it. Now it just feels like a soulless cash grab but with some innovations like a proper usage of a modern game materials system to render the various layers of the necromorph bodies when attempting to dismember them. I wonder if they will retroactively add the rivet gun to it because it was introduced with extraction.

I'm not saying they don't exist; but the balance between people who are skilled and personable are slim.
vtubers exist tho. sure, lot of them are still average girl-gamer level, but it feels there's at least some genuine "gamers" among them besides the "I like videogames tee-hee" streamers.
and fwiw, any lack of skill they usually make up for in personality (not to mention all the male vtubers, but you gotta ask someone else about those).

You're nuts if you think Isaac didnt hold that fucking tool(and most weapons outside of the maybe the force gun and contact beam) essentially stone solid in Dead Space. He only ever had the slightest movement of the elbow while firing it. The recoil also wasnt even real since the actually barely moved at all. In fact directly comparing the og and remake, there is actually very little difference, largest being the sound the plasma gun actually makes.

Is the AI voice Tali from Mass Effect?
I like the new plasma cutter sound effect, it sounds like a tool instead of a gun.

This isn't even the same Nicole that Isaac went looking for on the derelict Ishimura.

They hare using scans of the voice actors' faces this time, and Tanya Clarke isn't exactly a teenager anymore.
I suppose I could muster the strength to face off against the necromorphs to go look for a missing milf.

That said the bit when she looks directly at the camera kinda got me, I thought it was cool.

Wasn't even Tanya Clarke that voiced Nicole for the first game. I didn't mind the change between Dead Space 1 and 2 though as she looked to be around the same age as Isaac, and she looked less doll like than the first game. But not touching up on the face scan of Tanya Calrke this go around seems like a mistake. She has aged 10 years since Dead Space 2, and it shows. I can't believe nobody looked at the end result and suggested to perhaps make it more similar to the appearance she had in Dead Space 2.

It seems to follow the trend of Western-developed games not being allowed to have attractive people for the sake of "muh realism."

The aging for Nicole and Isaac has always been the strangest thing. Like iirc isaac is in HIS LATE 40S for dead space one. Which is crazy when you thing about that, but weird that Nicole looks like a early 20 something while being a senior medical officer or whatever. They kinda fixed it in 2, they age her up to look like shes in her 30s, but Isaac doesnt look like a 50 year old man at all. Ginger Isaac I can ever really tell what age he is supposed to be.... I guess I can believe thats a man in his late 40s???
