It will take over 6 momths to train them to NATO tank crew standards. Even then, 10 isn't going to do a danf thing.

6 months is optimistic. From my talks with guys in US armored units:

Armor does OSUT for BCT & AIT, and that's something like 17 weeks. Once you get released to your unit, armor guys all said it took 6 months to get the new guys just to the point they weren't a liability. Usually took a year to get them battle ready. This was with the advantage of experienced crews, and older members who had seen action in Desert Storm. From what we've seen the Yook crews will get the opportunity to learn fast though.

10 tanks won't do shit on the battlefield, but it lets you start working the kinks out of your logistics train in case you get more.

1) Alright, looked it up. There's alot of different scenarios and opinions within the cold war west strategy, i appreciate it. But Russia has at best 1/2 the strength of the soviet union, its not that relevant what people of either side thought of the other side in the 80s. The west is simply superior when it comes to conventional warfare, the problem is morale and willingness to commit, which the west has problems with during 30 years or relative peace. Like, the only advantage the west had was airforce, the Soviet ground forces were superior mostly due to quantity. So the Soviets would probably have dominated in the first week, with western reinforcements and air force have stabilized the situation afterwards, pushing the Soviets back costly for a few weeks. But this is irrelevant today as half of Russias vehicle fleet has been lost ( confirmed via photos, geolocated and open-source )

MiG Pilot: The Final Escape of Lt. Belennko A short auto biography of the guy who defected with the Mig-25 in 1976. He talks about how fucked up Soviet logistics was - not just military but civilian too. And precisely how far behind on air development they were vs the US.

Russia will not "run out" of missiles. What they will do is hit critical reserves and have to be increasingly choosey with their targets. They also might have to make hard choices, like using their nuclear warhead demonstrators as decoys. They have been using S300 anti-air missiles retasked to attack ground targets because Ukraine has limited airpower, and what airpower they have the S400 & interceptors that can stay outside of Ukrainian AA engagement range. Russia can, IIRC, domestically produce S300 missiles regardless of any embargoes, and a S300 will take out a power substation, I've seen them offlined by racoons.

they are also probably buying back (or just appropriating) missiles tht might have been intended for customers in other countries. Additionally while theie ability to get advanced electronic for some of their higher-speed missiles might be shutdown or restricted, there are spare parts they can use to get partly completed missiles to operational status.
