If you haven't noticed this war is for Ukraine, not for us. For people there it's just a military operation akin to what have been in Syria, with differences being location, country and the fact it's close to our borders like how it was when Geargian fuck up happened.
Russia-Georgia conflict lasted barely longer than a week, if you think this is the same then you're completely out of your mind. Same goes for Syria, frankly, public was barely aware of it, they didn't have to be. There's no comparison.
The whole "it's not a war" copout is just that, Russian Federation committed more resources and people to this war than in every conflict combined since its inception, it's not even close, and it has serious repercussions within the country itself, as much as sitting government and their talking heads like to pretend otherwise. Russia's ongoing effort to achieve its goals in Ukraine is quite literally tearing it apart. War is expensive, as you will inevitably learn.
If it was so trivial, it would've been over by now. We wouldn't have gotten to mobilization. It's easier to say that it's not a big deal, that way you don't have to admit that they're kicking your ass.
