Piercing sperg/highly opinionated thoughts ahead. I do think certain people can make a septum piercing work, but the jewelry is the main factor in this (since you don't have much choice with placement with these). It needs to be smaller, both in diameter of the ring and gauge, to fit closer to the bottom of the nose,. For some reason, Kevin has decided to stretch this piercing (rarely looks good on anyone, but especially real women) and wear a huge, wide circular barbell through it. You say septum piercings look like boogers hanging out, but Kevin's jewelry choice looks like a Hitler mustache.

I get why some people don't like this piercing at all or reminds them of farm animals, but here are some examples of what I think looks good or bad, just quickly pulled from this BAF jewelry listing. Fellow body mod spergs feel free to add your thoughts.

There is "good septums", only bad septum piercings and worse septum piercings. You look like a farm animal and I immediately assume thats your level of intelligence.

The main variable that determines if a septum looks ok is if the person wearing it is attractive. Septums only look ok on people who are conventionally attractive. Those people look good despite the piercing, not because of it. The same applies to danger hair. Unless a person is attracted to the alternative aesthetic, septums don’t enhance anyone’s looks. Maybe it's me sucking at "reading" cats but the stare the black cat gives the kitten and its body language doesn't feel like normal socialisation neither does the kitten's reaction. I doubt they've bothered to introduct the new kitten to the established animals properly.

The tranchers -- to a man -- are severely lacking in normal socialization skills (this is an exponential understatement). It's one of their defining characteristics and a huge part of why they became troons in the first place. So it's no surprise they are just as inept at animal husbandry and proper care of their pets as they are at dealing with other humans.

I mean, it's obvious they can't even provide the basic necessities the cats need so they don't feel compelled to just piss on the floor in a communal latrine. Kinda says it all, that does.
