Imagine if they made a Super Sentai version of Superman like they did with Spiderman and he gets his own giant robot and get in a mech battle with Japanese Lex Luthor in his own mech.

That is an interesting thought, if the Japanese made a Super Sentai version of Superman similar to what they did to Spiderman, and give him his own robot

I'll admit I wasn't on /a/ back in the early to mid 10s, but does anyone know who the fuck is Diaz?
I assumed he was some old lolcow tripfag related to the board, but he must be a relatively harmless one since there is no mention on the forms, ED, or anywhere outside of 4chan. so is he just an bogyman oldfags on /a/ will blame for [enter thing here] like this?
Lmao I forgot about that image.

To answer your question he was an autistic codefag who made the encoders for the combined community codec pack that people would use to watch .mpv files instead of VLC since it was notoriously shit around that time.

The wikipedia article is obscure enough to not be dogshit.

There was a running gag that whenever anything bad ever happened anime related, to blame Daiz which resulted in that picture you posted. AFAIK one of the good tripfags since he was actually producing something useful, I don't have a clue and doubt there was any real behind the scenes drama associated with him. IDK where or what he does now, I vaguely recall hearing he got hired for said codefagging skills.

EDIT: on the note of "faggots from /a/" does anyone know anything about a tripfaggot named Siztra? He shat up the board around that timeframe and I'm wondering if there is any backstory on what the fuck he even was.

Currently I’m already 13 episodes into Steins;Gate and it’s both funny and saddening that Mayuri keeps getting killed for the third time. Right now, I hope episode 14 will be a relief for me. It‘s a great thriller so far.

Finished Chainsaw man, I liked it overall. It seemed to capture the style of the source material and was reasonably fun. That being said given the amount of money allegedly spent it should have hit harder. There were clear diminishing returns (did they really need 13 different ending themes?) and much of the show would have benefitted from a lower budget approach with more implied action.

I don't know that guy but that reminds me of how surprised I am that Lelouch has been sticking around for so long. For as long as I've browsed /a/ it seems like he never contributed anything worthwhile and people have just been making fun of him for over a decade.

I read something here regarding Ayakashi Triangle

Ever since the debut of Ayakashi Triangle, the term TS Yuri, which stands for Transsexual Yuri, has become a popular trend on Twitter in response to the series' primary romance involving exclusively female characters.

Transsexual yuri? I wonder if transsexual yaoi will come next.

Well, TS has kinda been the word for Japanese to describe gender bender element anyway. Just don't go for TSF (F stands for fantasy), which is more often than not being Hentai.

Transsexual yaoi is unnecessary, since there is Omegaverse, However, the closet two I notice are manhwa.

The official Twitter account for the Dropkick on My Devil! (Jashin-chan Dropkick) television anime announced on Friday that the anime's crowdfunding project has raised over 100 million yen (about US$782,000). The campaign ended on Friday, raising a total of 115,964,266 yen (about US$907,000). The account had previously revealed that if the campaign raised over 96,560,858 yen (about US$756,000), then the staff would apply for the Guinness World Record for the most money raised by an anime production project. The amount refers to the Dies irae anime, which raised 96,560,858 yen through a crowdfunding campaign in 2015.

snek cultists really are another breed of people (me included). this anime really should have blown up years ago (it kind of did with the whole miku thing but more on its own), its absolutely great and soulful as fuck

There's at least 2 this season; Ayakashi Triangle and Eiyuuou. Add that loli one and there's 3 TG a one this season

Well there was this

A miraculous account of a doubter who was turned into a woman by the one true god. "If you cannot make a girl fall in love with you as a woman your punishment will be to remain a woman for the rest of her life." Thus spoke INSR-sama - the powerful holy lesbian fox goddess who rules our lives - hallowed will be thy name.

They bragged a lot about the 120+ million yen they got on some crowdfunding site.

They had a few livestreams about it too and Jashin chan is on her way to owning a town like that conan the detective series does. Seems suspicious to me.

The snek has already blown all the money on pachinko again hasnt she?

I miss 2004 when anime could have literal shitposts in them and the dubbing studios acted like prissy faggots when they got it. It made Fan subs all the better when one group was in on a joke and wasn't autistic enough to try to literally translate shit.

EDIT: I went to MAL and some butthurt faggot gave it a 1 because of the joke about Kanta selling a guy as a sex slave to faggot. Do we have a Community Watch thread on MAL? That shit has some great posts from 2012-2018. People taking it too seriously.

Let's talk Escaflowne please. I still haven't seen it yet I have Yakusoku Wa Irenai on my ipod for about 14 years because it is a fucking banger.

I don't know why but it reminds me of the Nord Highland arc in Cold Steel doubly so because giant mechas lmao. I'm totally here for the long blonde haired elf queen though.

Is it good? I know it aired after Eva finished in Japan and bombed. Yes I also know my precious Kirby Morrow was in the original dub and that there was a VERY heavily altered brief run on Fox kids for some reason.

I'm not too big on mecha but the 90s tokyo/medieval type ascetic looks interesting.

It starts out alright. There were production issues near the end so the final reveals will either be awesome or lame.

It's Shojo so it's not too heav on the normal cliches of mecha.

There are a few parallels to Final Fantasy 6.

The Escaflowne TV show looked aesthetically great when it came to the art and animation. The setting with the mechas powered by the hearts of dragons and the airships was also cool. Sadly, as aforementioned, the show was supposed to be 36 episodes long, but got cut down to 25 during production. So the war arc with the empire got shoved into the last 4 episodes and was unsatisfying. Also didn't help that much of the show's overall screentime was taken up by Hitomi's fortune telling and love triangle stuff, which was really disinteresting. I remember getting chills when the track Dance of the Curse started playing during the climatic duels. The English dub I watched was good (there are two dubs, I think. I watched the one with Maes Hughes' voice actor).

The Escaflowne movie redesigned the mechas with a more biological horror slant. The character's faces look really weird, though, and while the movie looked great it just wasn't very good story wise.

There is a MAL thread. It's mostly dead.

That chapter made me watch Buffalo '66 again. I can't believe a manga referenced a Vincent Gallo movie.

Even though the movie arc has been going a bit too long (over a year, I think?), I expect the WataMote manga to continue after the school festival arc is over. It's not like any of Nico Tanigawa's other recent attempts at creating a new manga series panned out.
