What doesn't make sense to me is this idea all of sudden that FROG isn't pulling in the money that the data we have suggests he is. In a perfect world, that values tangible contributions over bloviating about the sins of the other side, FROG might be a failure, but we pretty clearly don't live in that world.

You basically answered your own question. Brooks is salty because Marvel is performing like ass. He's looking to blame CG instead of taking a critical eye to his own side. I think this was discussed and generally agreed to months ago when Dean Assaf interviewed him with a bunch of gay softball questions.

Frankly, Brooks is an idiot for lashing out an FROG and CG. He's playing right into their narrative that they are this big influential force that is affecting the industry. If somebody is really that inconsequential, like isn't the smarter move to just to ignore them?

I still don't believe it began as a grift but as with all movements once the big $$$ starts rolling in that inevitably becomes more important to protect than the actual "movement" so screw principles. Was fighting to get the comicsgate trademark for the movement or for your business? Is countersuing Peggy to the tune of 4 million for trademark infringement for the movement or your business? I‘m in the same boat. I remember me and Ivan Shatov going toe to toe with the whole forum in the Comicsgate hangers on thread because I believed in CG and what they were doing so much. But, as time progressed and the books got later and later and it got harder and harder to defend CG. I started seeing that maybe the CG detractors were right.

I guess I’m still warm, to the concept of CG but the Reality of it has left me disgruntled.

ComicsGate is an ongoing discussion about what has gone wrong with comics. That's the social movement aspect of this cause. It also addresses the reality that with things the way they are, being able to make a living in comics is being ruthlessly gatekept by a cabal of influential SJWs who know how to control a narrative and make serious trouble for anyone who directly opposes them. We've seen the reality of that time and time again.

The business of ComicsGate is to deny them the power to decide who gets to make, market and sell comic books. This is only necessary because SJWs have made it necessary. I care about this because this is how I derive my living, and the people I associate with the most also make their living this way.

I'm going to survive having been purged, and I'm going to help others to survive it too. As many people as I can. And we're probably going to make money doing so.

I care about "changing the world" and "taking the fight to the SJWs" but I'm just one guy who doesn't really have a plan for that. I'll support anyone who has a good one. What I CAN do is use my voice to promote comic books that aren't approved by SJWs and push back against cancel culture and political discrimination in that way. I'm doing the best that I can.

I don't own the movement but yeah, I own the trademark on the word "ComicsGate." I think you know why that is necessary.

The best thing you can do is your own thing far away from them. Do it as a business with no ridiculous pretense that CG is gonna take back comics from Marvel or D.C., because it's not.
