Agreed that it would be interesting to explore the ethical dilemma of trying to essentially force a woman to reproduce for the greater good, but the lesbian part is irrelevant - contrary to popular opinion, it's not a penis in a vagina that creates a baby but the simultaneous presence of sperm&egg in a uterus :) The culture of pregnancy and reproduction in general in an apocalypse is generally and interesting discussion - pregnancy is inherently dangerous and even more so without modern medicine, and in a society without birth control much beyond the "rhythm method" I could see bisexual people tending towards homosexual relationships as a form of birth control but then still plan out babies.

There would also be societal pressure to reproduce but I'd be terrified of how TLOU3 would treat that debate ('i don't want your FORCED BREEDER sandwich!!')

Homosexuality being tolerated in an extinction scenario is preposterous, not even considering that Ellie is the best chance that humanity survives.

Another criticism I see again and again but it's retarded because gay and lesbian people are just as capable of reproducing as anyone else. It just couldn't happen on accident which is perhaps a bonus.

having played both games and seen the first episode of this show, i'd say the show is pretty good so far as game to tv/movie adaptations go, albeit its condensing quite a bit for the sake of its 10 episode runtime. had it been given maybe 12 i think they couldve done more with it. only complaints so far is the spore removal thing is dumb and they shouldve got a different actress to play ellie, but for different reasons other than appearances, mainly the acting thing. though its only the first episode and i may just need to wait for the entire thing to be out before i can really judge that. pascal as joel works fine tho.
 
Druckman strikes me as an r/antinatalism guy. I don't see him liking the idea of children any more than the idea of fathers.

Also isn't it a significant plot point in the first game that Joel agrees to escort Ellie because she bears a striking resemblance to his deceased daughter?

How does this work if his daughter is black and looks nothing like Ellie?

No. I think it was just a job him and Tess were doing and over time they bond. There's also a point, midway through IIRC, where he tells Ellie as they're arguing that she's not Sarah.

I can see the point of unions for jobs with actual risk. But video games not so much. And many video game people can get jobs in other industries without the massive crunch.

About all unions are likely to do is increase prices and make new games take even longer. And probably benefit the studios outside the US.

I know I shouldn't be surprised, but jesus fuck, this is so satisfiying to see. The amount of times I have to tell retards that unions are generally (though not always, obviously) shit, and all devs have to do to improve conditions is not be fucking pussies/shackled to name brands ('But I wanna work at BLIZZARD!'), and stand up for themselves is enough to make me want to neck myself.

If Blizzard can't get people to work for them because they have shitty conditions, they'll either improve conditions, or crash, which will motivate others to improve. Obviously not a law of the universe, and it relies on people having a fucking spine, so it'll never happen.
