I'd like to hear (without them getting flamed) what the pro Ukranian side here thinks of the fact that basically Merkel, Holland and Poroshenko have admitted that just like Putin said, they never intended to fulfill Minsk II (and I) agreements and just signed them in bad faith to buy time, to fight a longer and more prolonged war rather than making some kind of devolution with respect to the Donbass and giving them more autonomy.

Swift joined the Navy in 2005 and a SEAL unit in 2007. He would leave the service and return in 2015, rejoining the SEALs a year later.

Not sure how practical armored trains like that would be in a modern context, but it would really make sense to have a train car specifically designed to carry and fire SAMs in a WW3 context. Trains will always be high valued targets and are most vulnerable to air attack.

Imagine a train equipped with CIWS every few cars, constantly on the move knocking missiles out of the air. It's like a train and military autist wet dream. Not sure how practical it would actually be but now I want to see this animated.

Also keep in mind that Russia had no intent on pressing outward towards Odessa in the near term. Ukraine DID try breaching the dam multiple times with HIMAR, there are news reports from Russia outlets claiming that they intercepted most missiles but three managed to penetrate the defenses and strike the dam. This obviously played into the decision making to pull out of an unproductive front, hell there was even mock ups being drawn depicting what would get flooded if the dam did get breached. A huge portion of the city of Kherson would get submerged and the whole area would be fucked.



Ukraine "won" this front by being willing to kill all of their civilians and destroy the city entirely.
