Megathread Random Thoughts & Questions - ADF

Probably been asked before, but would you rather live in CWCVille, or Australatina? No, you can't kill yourself to get out of answering.

I would pick CWCville simply on the basis of life expectancy.
Living in a commie muslim country thats under international embargo and recently violated US air space over bathroom laws doesnt scream long term prospects.
Once you make yourself a tinfoil hat to block out magichan CWCville doesnt seem so bad.

I duno if I could live without easy access to a Ice Cold Reeb, but your right.

As autistic as it sounds i would love to see how CWCs recent lifestyle choices affected CWCville.
We know he enjoys alcohol these days, sitting alone in bars with his DS milking a bud or enjoying so hard lemonade or a long island icetea with the lesbians.

Isnt trannycommie land supposed to be straight edge or something.

Yea I think Chris has softened his stance when it comes to Alcohol, and a few other things. but his current lifestyle an habits are obscure in some areas, but this isn't the time or the thread to discuss them.

Like everything the details are in flux an poorly fleshed out, but it's been straight edge and normal. Phil's not as counter culture as he makes out, I mean he doesn't even smoke weed regularly and that's about the hardest drug he's ever had and even then his access to them is spotty as best and his alcohol consumption is a bit of mystery he will drink but much like Chris it's infrequent and irregular.

Phil drinks for sure (money allowing).
He starts the month on fair trade beers and mid price wines and by months end hes drinking bargain bin shit.
Phil doesnt drink much as he cant really handle it or is in a position of safety to get wasted.

When you think about it Chris started off with a pretty conservative utopia that had some pretty progressive ideas ( soup hotels) but became far more liberal over time.
Phil the anarchist on the other hand built a world that started socialist and liberal yet devolved into a repressive and xenophobic shit hole.

That's pretty much what I was saying, he will have a beer here an there but he won't get Concert Square on a Friday / Saturday drunk (legless fall down drunk) he'll have one or two when the mood takes him and it's always the cheep crap when he does drink but it's not often.

Sadly that's what happens with idealistic cultures with the way we think as a species honestly the Soviet Union genuinely started with the best of intentions but then one or two festering assholes got power and fucked it up an perverted the whole idea and it was never able to recover, Phil is the low level guy who let's that rot start - Phil at his best is a incompetent jobsworth, but will look the other way if your able to bribe him with a few quid or something he wants, the line manager who you need to ask to approve your holidays an will decline them without a bung, the quartermaster who catches you kicking some extra bread in a rationing situation who will help himself an take money from you for doing the same etc.

I'm not much into political sperging but if anyone would like to talk about this to avoid a thread derail over PM please feel free.

@Ravenor, when/why did Phil become homeless? Did he go to Occupy Portland and just never return home, or did his mum chuck him out, or what?
It was much earlier. He had a fall-out with his mother because he owed her so much back money that he moved out. Philly era. @Ravenor probably has more details, I'm vague for that phase.

EDIT: He made plans at the end of 2010 to be out in December, and mentions "staying with two friends" by February. (I'm unclear on who they were at the moment.) They eventually make him leave because he was "taking too long to get back on his feet" or somesuch.

Kinda but it's a bit more involved, he threw that infamous wobbler and hit his mum and that was the nucleus of him leaving home but the thing that forced the issue for him was meeting @tweaker the cat and moving cross country to be with him. Some of the interveening details are a little bit murky and depending on what source you go to (what version of phils own history he's telling at the time) the time line vary's a little bit, I can go into more detail later as at the moment I'm a little bit busy and it will take a while to explain.

What's allowed him to keep up this lifestyle is more interesting he managed to get his tugboat and for the first time he had a not insignificant amount of money to him for doing fuck all and combine this with his relatively simple comfort level he's more than happy to spend money on things that make him immediately happy than things that would put his life on track.

The best way to sum up Phil's current lifestyle enabled by his tugboat is - He's living his own version of a Champaign lifestyle on Lemonade money at the sacrifice of making real change due to his myopia.

The thing is if he didn't get the tugboat by the fraud he committed, or lost it because he hasn't used it as he should he'd keep up the image for a month or two then make a begging call to his Mum then eventually slink off back to New Jersey.

What's funny is all he's done with the tugboat is wreck his life even harder, so that when and if it gets canceled because of his stupidity, he's now stranded and homeless with no money, everyone hates him, and he's covered head to toe in scrawled obscenities and tattoos that if they were children's drawings, your own mom would throw them away.

Going to call it now; The Born Again saga.

When he finally looses his tugboat and has nothing left he's going to announce he's a born-again christian and start trying to beg, plead and mooch off of christians to give him a place to stay.

Didn't he stay with Rika and his "Wolverine" posse for a while before finally became homeless?

He did but it was sorta the same arrangement he has now where he's not exactly as homeless as he claims, he always manages to find a place to crash I'm aware of one or two locations he's stayed for a short while but exactly how he found them he's a little coy on.

Sorry we posted at the same time and I missed this, I don't think he will go down the Christian route it's not edgy for him to start with but it's also a little to close to home with him being brought up Catholic. he values what ever image he's got at the moment and try's to maintain a distinct seperation from his old self when he was younger (before collage) and what ever he is at the moment.

Maybe so, but when he has no money or couch to crash on he'll change his tune.
