YouTube Historians/HistoryTube/PopHistory

It would never happen but I would enjoy seeing a Razorfist/Atun Shei discussion on this topic. Watching two idiots throwing passive aggressive jabs at one another would be highly entertaining.
If Vlogging Through History already did a take on Razor's Lincoln video, I don't doubt Atun-Shei will cover it eventually. And I'm sure Razor will accuse Atun-Shei of being a Communist in response.

JustTheFacts deleted their whole channel, Discord and Twitter. They seem to have grooming accusations against them.

MY FUCKING SIDES LMFAO

Sorry, but seeing this smug "muh disciplined chad, muh all-knowing master of economics" smarty-pants being outed for fucking sexting minors on Discord and then deleting all his social media like a coward is very funny to me.
At first I really liked his content because had some really based takes (and many dogshit ones but still), but his "gosh, everyone is stupid but me" schtik got old really fast.

Also lol at him making video saying "all youtubers are horrible people and you shouldn't trust and obsess them!" Sure thing buddy, you're the prime example.

I like Jazby but I hate his insistence of having his primary source videos be read in a shitty accent whether or not he's capable of actually doing the accent correctly.
I wonder if he's afraid of getting clipped? A stupid accent makes it plain he's quoting someone even if context is removed.

Rudy continues his transformation into Jordan Peterson...
Probably the most rambling video I've listened to from him. He's probably right about dating apps and zoomers being reclusive spergs but holy shit if your "network" gets that little out of life despite how successful they seem maybe you should move somewhere that isn't clown world central? As a self-proclaimed "digital nomad" you could move to Serbia and discuss Uncle Ted's work with Null, would save thousands per year plus a free video script.

Looking forward to the video on why he thinks the far right will win in the coming decades though, currently they seem as hopeless as the rebel angels from Paradise Lost so it'll be interesting to see how he thinks such a drastic change of fortunes could take place.

Ten Minute History used to have a great series on the history of Great Britain, but because of how youtube disincentivises effort, he was forced to stop making videos that are over 10 minutes long and now he only does short vignettes on obscure details that are shortening kids' attention spans further and causing the downfall of civilization.

I watch the Chieftain’s Hatch because tank engineering is fascinating.

Then I’ll look at Nick Moran and remember that damn this guy has definitely killed people.

It’s surreal. His content blends into the background with stuff like Drachinefel (a civil engineer by trade) or Military Aviation History (some kind of professional nerd) and Military History Visualized (I think an actual military historian and former Austrian army reservist).

Nicholas Moran though. Tank Commander in frontline service during at least two violent conflicts. Here I am watching him make jokes and memes about track tensioning, but there’s a 100% chance he has personally taken a life.

I’m not passing judgement it just makes his content more surreal.

I think it just makes it cooler. He also knows what the fuck he's talking about, ironically he is likely more knowledgeable than Bovington.

I run into a similar thing with Paul Harrel.

The actual experience does enhance his content and gives a unique perspective, but it ain't even about that.

It's about the fact that with 99.9% of the other semi-educational content I listen to, I can't look at the host and be like damn this guy has definitely smoked a motherfucker.

Most history videos on Youtube are five to ten minute pop history pieces, reaction videos to these pieces, or twenty minute "documentaries" about major historical figures. Very rarely do you see someone actually trying to be professional; like you hardly ever see really good production value or someone citing sources either in the video or the description (like a list of books someone can read to learn more about the topics discussed in the video).

EXACTLY. If these people are successful as he says then even the ugliest dudes shouldnt have a problem getting a gf.

The only person I know who does sources right is TIK. Like, no, you can't just cite a book and "it's in there".

Apart from TIK, SandRhoman History is the only YTer I know of who excatly cites the original sources.

Christoph Bergs is a PHD student at LSE I think. You notice how a lot of his interviews are with people working at defence Think Tanks based in London, he moves in those circles.
and Military History Visualized (I think an actual military historian and former Austrian army reservist).
Bernhard Kast has a degree in computer science, and that's mainly what got him to the position he's in now, as he could create his own visuals and wasn't reliant on using copyrighted photos or film footage, which is something that fucks up a lot of History YouTubers.

Even if a photograph is 80+ years someone can still own the copyright on it. Getty images and various other stock photos companies will often just claim the copyright on random historical images. You can't just take an image from a book or use old newsreel footage.

It's different in the US but in the UK if you go into say the Royal Armories museum and take a photograph, they own the copyright to it, and you can't use it in any monetized way. It doesn't matter that the Royal Armories is a state owned museum.

He's a reservist and I think his main job is still Wargaming America. I suspect having a serving Lt Col on the books helped Wargaming as they tried to put their belarusian origins behind them.

Incidentally I'm not sure what the situation is like in the US, but in a lot of countries being a military reservist results in a massive degree of job insecurity. You're limited by regs in how many days you can do with the military, and the requirements of training make holding a regular job difficult. Also what tends to happen is that people that are able to attend every single training event or course, end up getting promoted.

I think his claim is that clown world is so advanced that even old fashioned hypergamy is broken now, even those men who are so rich that they're household names have trouble holding onto women. It's become so low-trust that it's fucked from the bottom to the top.

It's also likely that most people who do have it good consider it trashy to brag about it in a social club invented to cope with urban atomization, or wouldn't join one in the first place, so WIAH only hears the negative and takes it at face value because he's the kind of sperg who made alternate history videos in his teens.

I just dont see it as that. Even in our clown world if youre a pretty successful dude whose rubbing elbows with the biggest players in the world the only reasons you wouldnt be able to find a decent woman is if youre a genuine retard or genuinely repulsive piece of shit.

This dude comes off(assuming hes being truthful here about who he is) as a rich incredibly out of touch asshole trying to relate to normal people by saying he has it tough too, his penthouse isnt as high as superrich asshole_01's when were struggling to find houses we can afford with 6%+ interest rates.
