TL;DR
* An admin on rDrama's sister site, WatchPeopleDie, was caught sharing a video of a 8yo girl having a seizure after being raped.
* The video was taken down, but the admin still spread it secretly
* Users caught wind of this and called him out
* rDrama mod CarpathianFlorist jumped to his defense and took the side of the pedo
* WPD and rDrama working overtime (FOR FREE) to "y'all can't behave" this
* As of posting this, Carp got himself somehow ¿shadowbanned? out of sheer incompetence lmao WHILE TRYING TO SHADOWBAN PEOPLE FOR SPEAKING ABOUT THIS lmao point and laugh
Mostly right, although what happened was
this thread was very long and seemed to be an effortpost of rDrama's usual moral panic over WPD's existence. Which they hate because gore. I assumed it was more of the same, and from the singular screenshot I'd clicked, it looked to be people (understandably) upset over the state of the site before I was asked to help with WPD in like August. There used to be a "Child" category there and one of the first things I did was kill that category off and start purging people who asked for this video in particular ("Amber Alert") because it was a disturbingly trendy one there. I even
named the video specifically in regards to banned content right off the bat to remove any ambiguity. I didn't continue reading because I assumed it was just screenshots of a 7-month-old discussion thread and while those are terrible people, getting mad again about long-gone creeps whose presence I'd already handled is not worth the hassle. We don't log IPs at any point and there is 0 recourse for us with them.
This ended up
not being the case though, and if I'd have kept reading the thread, I'd have seen that now-former mod @ATG was
sending this video to users via DM. Which is absolutely unconscionable and while "I didn't read the thread because it's very long and seemed like more of the usual" is accurate, I really should have if I was going to assume what it said and get involved in it. Given what ended up being the actual content of this thread, I was VERY MUCH in the wrong. It's objectively morally reprehensible and a very clear cut case of right and wrong. The userbase was right. The mod and users in question were wrong. And I was factually wrong, as seen in retrospect throughout the thread by completely misunderstanding virtually every comment I wrote.
FF 24 hours when I finally got around to properly looking at the thread, immediate disgust and I went on to ban every user who'd requested the video. I could not remove the jannie, because I don't have that ability without Aevann's approval (since the user is "staff" and a paypig and this requires extra steps) but as soon as he woke up
I got that approval and immediately banned and removed him.
It was a disgusting comedy of errors that are entirely my fault. Knowing what I know now (and should have and could have known all along, had I just read the thread in its entirety), nothing I said or did was neither right nor correct. I should have banned the users immediately, and I should have immediately asked Aevann for the ability to remove ATG. It ended up taking over a full day to realize that, but it did get done. Still, this is a suicidally bad look for the sites, and my continued presence is a net negative for the place + the whole thing because incredibly stressful once I'd realized what I'd done. So, leaving. It may end up just being temporary, but after that I've no business being there for awhile at the very least. I fucked up. Bad.

A shadowbanned user BasedGod was spamming dms and modmail, I pressed the mute button,
someone dropped the ball with the alt map rewrite and muting anyone ended up linking the muter's account to theirs. Specifically: "
muting checks for alts but aevann forgot to put include_current_session=False as a parameter to check_for_alts". rDrama is nothing if not incredibly astute developers.

This is false. I shadowbanned BasedGod and 24-7-Rock-Cock or whatever for spamming. This morning Aevann said that 24-7-Rock-Cock has promised to stop, though, and asked if I think he should be unbanned. I said yes. JC ("tranny janny") deleted one of the threads about WPD at like 5am. No one (including us) noticed for hours, but when it was noticed, I reinstated the thread.
New head jannie seems to be August.
August is just shitposting. Head jannie is still Aevann. Hierarchy after that is murky, but Marco is probably at the top of it. I suggested him for Marsey and hat approvals at least.
