I don't know, Meigh strikes me as someone who has deep pscyho energy bubbling under her passive exterior that would come out in the event Ralph actually tried to kill her or something. Obviously she doesn't give a shit about her child; she doesn't give a shit about her blood family being harrased by her gunted husband, so not caring about anyone besides herself is a given.
