A Brazillian furry artist with 38k followers got under fire for commissioning a Russian artist and therefore "supporting terrorism".
After the beginning of the war, the Furry Fandom is separated into two sides, regarding Russian artists. One doesn't want people to commission Russians, because the money Russians make from art is used to pay taxes and therefore these taxes are "going to fund the war". The other side defends Russian artists, because "they're suffering" and "it's not their fault", also claiming not paying Russians because of their government is "xenophobia".
Once you remember that all of these moral slap fights are happening regards the "ethics" of russfurfag commissions, you'll realize how beyond retarded this whole thing is.
These few posts led to comments being supportive of Tatujapa, meanwhile, only a few quote retweets were against him, but overall furries protect their Russian art spammers.
It's true that some Russians are against the war, however, it is more with the English speaking ones. because they had access to other media that isn't necessarily propaganda. But I also like how westerners believe from the bottom of their hearts that their Russian artists are "so against the war and are really sorry for everything ", meanwhile most of them remain completely silent, or retweeted one or two awareness posts. I'd also want to point out that language barrier helps a lot. It just feels like cope really. I don't think furries will be able to boycott Russian artists even if all of them wanted to. Not only they're cheap, but Russians contribute to the high-quality art of this fandom, and I'm not exaggerating. For every good American artist, there are five Russian ones. A large amount of them are on YouTube and Twitter, but they are mostly on Furaffinity with constant YCHs and adoptables, and even if they don't say their nationality out loud, you can always guess by their Vkontakte and Boosty pages. It's an interesting phenomenon, they found the niche and oversaturated it with constant grift and milking.

Between the holidays and a sudden burst of projects at work, it's hard to pay much attention to what furfags have been saying on twitter. Either way, the virtue signaling wars that started last year with regards to Russian artists have been entertaining. So many people with flags in bio being salty, and for once it's not because of transphobia or homophobia or the usual -isms.

I thought the entire point was to be able to be able to draw your own shit? Like, I wouldn't commission someone else to write a book for me, I'd just write it myself (and I've done so).
