If you're thinking about switching to a Linux distro so that you'll never have to deal with an EOL schedule again, you're in for a nasty shock.
Selling an operating system means continuing to update and support it as new platforms come out, which isn't cost-free (cf. Alder Lake issues with Win 10). And if I sell something, the customer expectation is that I will keep supporting it for 2-3 years at least. Windows 10 end of support is 2025, so this is the right time to stop selling it.
