Fat Acceptance Movement / Fat Girlcows

Wtf is a violent beauty standard?

It's when you get beaten up by Chun Li.

So I accept that fat people exist, how come that's not good enough?

Because you're supposed to praise us for our crappy life decisions... or, something. I'm fat (although trying to lose that) and I honestly don't get it. I think it's about, like, making a society where obesity is the beauty ideal, so that they can get all the hot guys? I don't know. @_@

Like any Tumblrtard, FAs demand the entire world change to suit them, and then throw a tantrum about how oppressed they are when the world doesn't immediately concede. Asspats and cake are handed out to soothe the rustled jimmies.

It's doubly ironic when you consider the amount of self-loathing and social anxiety the average fatty has, and their #1 demand is for people to accept them without judgement. I'd tell them to look in the mirror, but that makes them cry.

in fairness it's very difficult to support a fat person

I'm all for representation of different body types, but really, being obese isn't a lifestyle. It can lead to heart attacks and strokes as well as diabetes.

"Uh, I'll have you know that those are lies big pharma tells you, it's perfectly possible to be obese and healthy" - a morbidly obese 20-something who is too young to have truly felt the full impact of their lifestyle, and will probably be singing a different tune in ten years.

That the Patriarchy is slowly killing women with junk food.

I think a lot of fat people actually forget what it's like to actually feel healthy. They forget that it's not normal to have aching joints, to get sore legs from walking 100 metres, and to have trouble breathing at night because your weight is crushing your chest.
It's only when you get back in shape that it occurs to you "hey, that shit was unhealthy", because it creeps up on you so insidiously that it becomes normal to you.

I was just reading an article about people bitching about fat shaming when they're denied access to amusement park rides due to weight. Jesus.

(Reading said article REALLY ramped up my determination to lose weight. I do NOT ever want to get that heavy.)

Do you have a link to the article? Apparently, the people in it don't know much about basic safety measures.

"Ma'am strapping a single weight greater than 500 lbs to this ride could cause it to become unbalanced and snap, killing you and all the people on board."

"DISCRIMINATION!!!"

Medical centers are already having to spend hundred of thousands of dollars to design new equipment to handle the ever-extreme states some people are pushing their bodies to. I wonder if a bariatric roller coaster is next.

A buddy of mine told me about a couple that lived across the street from him. To put a long story short the female of the two land whales was having heart problems then three ambulance crews, five fire trucks and a crane later had pulled her onto a specially delivered hospital bed. The local council has had to modify the home to fit both fatties needs as well as pay somebody to take out their trash, walk their dog and cut the grass.
After all of that and mods on a home that would have cost thousands of £ the council are considering moving them into a bungalo because neither of them can't get up the stairs in the newly modified home. New additions include but are not limited to double doors for them to get in and out the home as well as a downstairs walk/roll in shower.

All on public money I presume?
And you wonder who is oppressing whom.

It was mostly someone whining about being "discriminated against", but here you go.

Fortunately, most of the people had common sense. I'd love to see if there's anything on tumblr about it.

I believe I've mentioned the time my dad had to have a body lifted out of someone's house with a crane.

Local taxpayer flipping the bill.

There is a variant of the trolley problem wherein you are asked whether you'd push an obsecenely obese person off a bridge in order to have their weight stop a train and therefore save five people. Most people don't even think of one particular benefit from a utilitarian standpoint: that by killing this obese person, you can save other lives indirectly due to not incurring public medical fees used to maintain this person's life.
