Almost certainly the latter. Every big channel will randomly have one day where they lose tons of subs now and again.Does anyone know why he lost 15k subs in june? Was is a particularly grotesque video or was it google purging dead subs?
If I remember correctly, that was when Jim went on his brief crusade against the Five Nights at Freddy's guy (Scott Cawthon?) for no reason beyond he's a Christian with Christian values.Does anyone know why he lost 15k subs in june? He will deliver a video and he will have Hogwarts Legacy on the thumbnail.... but it will be completely unrelated to Hogwarts! Probably be about what he thinks facism is, and transphobia in media and capitalism or whatever.I really want Jim to deliver the promised Hogwarts Legacy call out video he promised, but he won't, will he.
The greater context is that at the time Scott's political donations were leaked and a lot of the people he donated to had anti-LGBT stances plus he donated to Trump, why he got a sub loss for this is probably due to a Game Theory video that released a few days before which took a very neutral stance and defended Scott Cawthon from his fans who thought he was a MAGA loving transphobe. Its continuely pointed out but yet another example of Jim's weekly schedule biting him in the ass.If I remember correctly, that was when Jim went on his brief crusade against the Five Nights at Freddy's guy (Scott Cawthon?) for no reason beyond he's a Christian with Christian values.
Even Jim's braindead audience could see the level of vitriol wasn't warranted --he also claimed to have given Cawthon the idea for FNaF-- and it was very obvious he was just kicking the hive in the hopes of manufacturing another DigiHom-level event.
ETA: Went and found the video, timeline adds up.
I don't like MatPat, because he's an embodiment of a lot of stuff I don't like about what has happened to YouTube and the whole influencer culture around it, I don't like that he's gotten objectively sloppier with his theories and he's moved from "mildly entertaining and educational" to "red strings on the pin board" in his theories. I really think he needs to slow down with the new channels and maybe assess if it is getting time to use his YouTube career and connections to begin to pivot to something else before it is too late for the sake of himself and his family. I don't like that he's a ballless cuck who seems to lack principles he'll stand up for most of the time, but rather is a meek little bitch who will quietly disagree most the time. I am not a fan of MatPat. Yet I applaud how he handled the Scott Cawthon situation. MatPat is a very "can't we all be friends?" type person, and he seems genuine in that, and while I will sharpen my blade saying "no we can't", I respect him for sticking to such beliefs as strongly as he does, even if he does so meekly. In other words, he's a better YouTuber than Jim, but I just don't like him, and that is a matter of opinion.
I personally watch a lot of "when it is done, I will release it" type YouTubers, often the only warning you get is they will premier their video so they can hang out in chat and talk with everyone as we first watch it, and that's only if you're lucky. I don't get to see many of my favourite YouTubers put out new content, because new content happens when it happens, sometimes with months between videos. Even those who occasionally cover topical stuff. I almost feel Jim needs to do such. "If there is something new for the Jimquisition to cover, I'll make a video on it and upload it rather than waiting around until Monday." It'd help him be topical, while also helping him avoid falling behind, or having nothing relevant to talk about and needing to beat the dust of ancient equine skeletons. Its continuely pointed out but yet another example of Jim's weekly schedule biting him in the ass.
Holy cringe, Jim still lives rent free thinking capitalism is le bad, like with every shitty breadtuber
Oliver bit the bullet last time so I'll do it this time. His complaints can be summed up into t
- Jim makes fun of people complaining about content warnings in Dead Space of all games
- CEOs bad
- Complaining about capitalism
- Mentions JKR being a transphobic fascist
- More CEOs bad
- A thunk provoking theory about big CEOs stealing people's money and now people can't consume so less profits so people get laid off
- Something about companies stealing money because of the pandemic
- Yet more CEOs bad
- The old "you're so rich you could give everyone money but you don't
" crap, you're in fact evil if you don't do it
- Wrestling
Well you already got what he wanted, he sold all the theory channels to a company, and is transitioning out of it, he's just in for a handoff period. Don't remember if/what else he's doing, but he's done with that space, and arguably sold at the right time.I really think he needs to slow down with the new channels and maybe assess if it is getting time to use his YouTube career and connections to begin to pivot to something else before it is too late for the sake of himself and his family.
And it was insanely telling that basically none of his beliefs came across in his games. He had positions and opinions of various likely controversial types. None of that made it into his breakout games. The most important thing for a creative is not to have the right beliefs, but to not put their beliefs front and center over the games contents. If you need a political persuasion to agree with a given narrative, then its not an entertainment product, its at best political infotainment.Yet despite my negative opinion of his work, despite not even agreeing with him politically, religiously, or philosophically, I can't say he deserved any of the shit he got from his community. He's a great guy and lives by the values he believes in. In other words, Scott Cawthon is the antithesis of someone like Jim.
- Man who 'earns' $100,000 a year for producing one 15-20 minute video a week."you're so rich you could give everyone money but you don't"
Az is generally based and against SJW bullshit so I'm not surprised to see him rip on Jimmy boy. It's funny to see Jim get called out on Nerdrotics channel by Az fir being a drama queen.
Jim has proven himself to be completely incompetent at even a cursory understanding of the actual investment markets. Everyone screeching about "lol infinite growth impossible" don't seem to realize that infinite growth is never the goal. Its maximal growth, and then eventually you switch over to a dividends stock, where you acknowledge minimal growth space at this time, and instead divest profits to shareholders. And while I do agree the notion of a ever expanding business is far fetching... How are you gonna convince people to invest their money on you company if you have no intention to maximise profit and return their investment? No, really, how can you do it Sterling?
I'm disturbed there's even a vague chance of Jim reproducing. Though, at this point, his sperm probably might as well be one dead tadpole

That's just how it goes with Breadtubers, and it's clear Jimbo wants to become one of them. They talk about capitalism from an incredibly shallow position, pretend they know everything, and screech at/block everyone who has a cogent argument otherwise.been a while since I've watched a Sterling video, and nothing has changed, amazing,
I hate internet debates, but god, I would love to see Sterling talking to someone, anyone, that can push back on his ridiculous claims.
Aside from his "captalism is evil" silliness, I just don't get even the basic reasoning of his arguments.
I know he takes the moralistic and self-rigthous grand standing, saying that employers are "people" and shouldn't be discarded over "business" and talks non-stop about the impossibility of everlasting "growth".
And while I do agree the notion of a ever expanding business is far fetching... How are you gonna convince people to invest their money on you company if you have no intention to maximise profit and return their investment? No, really, how can you do it Sterling?
And how you go on to a investors meeting and say you are operating on the red because you couldn't fire personal because they are "people" without said investors saying "well be taking our money elsewhere".
Investing money ain't charity, and no, bitching about "CEO and executive Bonus!!" doesn't change anything, even if the top echelon of a billion dollar company gave up every single penny from their pay check, it wouldn't be a drop in a bucket.
The phrase "It is just business" in't just about detachment, it is just that nobody has complete control how how business will turn out, and the time comes for difficult decision, well, they shouldn't be taken personally. Sure it is hard for the guy getting the short end of the stick to not take it personally, but what is the alternative? keep a entire workforce that isn't turning a profit for a year or so, so everybody can lose their jobs latter when the company goes broke?
Wonder what will happen in a couple of years from now on? Sterling is still bleeding subs, his views ain't that great anymore, and slow but steady his patreon bucks are going away, so, when the time comes, when it will come down to keep the lights on or his editor, which one will be?
Self-righteous rants from people who never had to be on the other shoes are meaningless, you fat fuck.
