SanctionedSuicide was privated because a thread on Tantacrul's video was posted on 4chan, and people on 4chan attempted to doxx RainAndSadness. RainAndSadness, the current admin of the site, decided to private the site to protect the privacy of their volunteer mods in case 4chan members tried to go after them next. Wild conspiracy though.

People value identical goods/services more if they pay for them instead of getting them for free.
Charging even a token amount would want readers to get their money's worth, disastrous when it comes to self-harm techniques.
I'd actually put a month long delay on accessing the suicide information after registering. If they only had access to the "It gets better" posts, they'd be less likely to canada themselves.

I have made this account so that the members here can hear my prospective of why I am against the site, I lost my son after he accessed the site, and was given the information directly how to end his life. I truly believe there should be a place for people to speak about how they are feeling but not where methods are handed out, if Joe had not have found the site he wouldn’t have found the method that he used and would still be with us today.
The trauma this has caused my family is horrific, not only that but the many other families here in the uk who have been effected by their loved ones accessing the site.
Myself, Angela and Mel work tirelessly on this to truly protect other people, we speak to many families in the uk and across the world who have been effected. Even ex members of the site have reached out to us and have remained away from the site. We have saved a couple of people from attempts and they have been so grateful for this and have worked on their mental health and come out stronger and we know others can too.

I’ve lurked SS for about a year, I ended up having to make an account to continue to do so. I won’t get into the ethics of the site, I feel that there has been enough of that already itt.
The users themselves are far more interesting to me personally, you have long time lurkers who rarely post, but these users are mostly innocuous. Many people use the site as a safety net, they like to know that suicide is always an option. I’ve seen similar outlooks from people in Europe who have access to assisted dying.
My main issues is that within the last year or so there has been more of an emphasis on calling out the ‘pro-life’ users of the forum. Users like Funeral Cry and her white knights are very quick to jump on people who even suggest that a user take a step back and wait a day or so to gain a clear head before taking their own life. Many of the suicides I’ve seen on the site have been impulsive, and encouraging them is dubious at best. Other users (Chinaski comes to mind, as I’ve seen one of their comments posted here), may a-log FC, but also like to cause discontent within the community by being utter cunts to people they disagree with ideologically. When these types of users are called out they tend to use bs excuses about other users policing their speech, when it’s quite obvious they’re simply being bullies, as harassment often continues after their targets ask to no longer engage in discourse. Basically using SS as a safe space to vent is becoming harder and harder unless you engage in rightthink (antinatalism, anti-religion, pro-troon, pro-incel, etc.) There was a tangible change when Rain and Sadness took over, not that having an incel as a mod was particularly great, just considerably less shitty than a troon using an avatar featuring a manga character who has her literal shit eaten.
Now, I’m not going to a-log the users or mods of SS anymore than what I already have. They are obviously desperate people who need compassion and empathy more than anything. Though, I do have my concerns that the site will not only face pressure from external forces, but also end up like numerous self-censoring subs on Reddit, where, Allah forbid, you have an opinion that deviates from the majority.
The only user I take particular issue with is DeathDuetoDysphoria (now rebranded as CantDoItAnymore), who is a suicide baiting troon from way back.

I’ve been an active member of SS for a while and I still am. I made an account here on KiwiFarms a few minutes ago. There’s been a lot of odd events recently. Notably, the Funeral Cry situation. When I first signed up on the forum, I read through some threads and I could see her posts everywhere. I instantly thought that this person must have autism, which has been confirmed now in the past few weeks. All their posts seem to be so similar, extreme at times and very artificial. Many people on the site agrees, but long time users are deleting their accounts and getting off the site because of the drama and how protected FC is from all criticism. The rules simply do not apply to her. I cannot do anything but wonder which admin or mod she’s fucking tbh, due to all the favoritism. Not to sound like a patronizing faggot, but I’m sorry that you’ve found yourself being an active member there. Welcome to the Farms.
Anyway. There was some discussion, iirc, on whether she was a bot due to the repetitive nature of her comments. I don’t post, and I don’t get particularly invested in threads there, but I couldn’t begin to count the number of times her bs has derailed threads, even other users’ goodbye threads. I can understand why many longtime users are leaving due to the drama.
I’m a hard line believer in free speech, but at the same time I recognize that certain situations call for certain amounts of self control, especially in dealing with the suicidal or mentally ill. FC and members like her can’t realistically determine whether what they post will ultimately push someone over the edge, considering the nasty shit that I’ve seen some favorited users posting. The fact that she’s autistic probably exacerbates this, as she may have an extremely solipsistic worldview, and simply can not relate to the idea that others exist and suffer on an intellectual level. I’ve seen similar behavior in other autistic female users like FireFox, for example.
Ultimately this sort of thing is bad for the site in general, as very few sites can survive both calculated external efforts to have it shut down, and a festering rot internally amongst members.

It does seem that FC is afforded more leniency or treatment than others. I don't deny that she uses the site to vent and stuff, but some of her behavior is quite questionable and should probably be looked into.

I have a question, I don't think you're lying when you mention that you resigned from SS, my question is, if the uproar that started thanks to NYT hadn't happened, would you continue as administrators of SS? Or were you already considering leaving the site before?
