It's hard to imagine just abandoning your entire family when they need help the most they've likely ever needed it. I am lucky to not have had Alzheimer's effect my own family but it has effected close family friends and we (my family) helped them with their dad more than Anisa is doing for her own father. Not like professional nursing help but just keeping an eye on him so his daughter could work.Anisa cries a big game to the internet about her daddy having Alzheimer’s, but she hasn’t seen the man in years. I wonder why? I wonder why she can’t spend his last years with him, caring for him, being there for the brief wisps of memory that surface, playing the music he remembers from his childhood. Helping relieve her mother for a few hours so she can take a break. Reminiscing with her siblings about their dad. Alzheimer’s is a horrible disease and it inevitably brings death, but it’s slow. The time you have with them can be all the more precious because you know it’s limited.
Then i realized, if someone asked Anisa why she doesn’t visit, she would say “he doesn’t remember me”. Because she is so self-centered, her father might as well be dead for all the use he is to her now.
Like sure, he's not always going to know who you are, he's probably going to call you different names but to be there, making sure he's ok and not getting into anything that could harm him is more important than having him remember you. Isn't he only in his 60s? He's probably physically able to do a lot. From my experience, it was like watching a very large toddler. Making sure he didn't leave the house and get lost, didn't start fires or flood anything cause he liked to tinker with stuff and could reach everything. Also he didn't sleep, at least not at night.
Her mom is likely at her wits end and Anisa is larping as a boxing promoter instead of helping her.
She misses the halal shops more than anything back home, I bet her dad would appreciate having some of his favorite meals/snacks/drinks prepared for him. Maybe when she finally visits her home town for the halal shops she can make time in her busy schedule to bring her dad something to enjoy before she ditches the family again.
Ok yes! I remember the tantrum, that was pretty hilarious.Sam did mentioned that one of the sisters reached out and was started talking him which Anisa ended hearing about it from I believe the superchats that caused her to throw a temper tantrum and ended her stream early just to tattletale to her mom all because her sibling was talking to Sam.
