Furry Fandom and Drama General

This guy has the ability to be the closest thing to "King of the furries" and he wastes it completely. What a shame.

Lord knows what I could do with a fanatical army of people without shame

lol they won't. They're too retarded and short sighted to do that.
Considering that, the claims may as well be on par with a woman in a broken relationship. They want to leave but they can't because "they love him".

LOL IT REDIRECTS TO CLOUDFLARE

HOW INCOMPETENT CAN A SINGLE FUCKING GUY BE? He can't even keep his site up for more than a few hours after taking it down for two days.
One may as well ask if he was even ever competent in the first place.

A lot of the community is talking about leaving the site entirely.

People said this when the site was down for 3 fucking months because of massive hardware failure that they had to get $17,000 in donations for to replace. Everyone ran off to the one alternative at the time called Furry Art Pile (F.A.P., yea, I know) and huddled there for 3 months like a bunch of refugees.

Everyone ended up coming back and the owner of F.A.P. later rage-deleted the website because he didn't want to work on it anymore.

Russian furries.

FurAffinity is the fandom's equivalent of PayPal. Nobody likes it, people get fucked over constantly, and there's little to no customer support -- people only use it because they have to. The artists who are talented enough to make money off of their art maintain a presence on more places than just FA (SoFurry, Inkbunny, Weasyl, and now Furry Network). Someone whose business is "ruined" since FA is down and has a week-old backup is just as retarded as Dragoneer for hedging their entire business on something as rickety and disaster prone as FA.

That said, as far as I know nobody who is working on/for Furry Network would have access to FurAffinity's source code, so the attack seems coincidental and a link is unlikely. FurAffinity got hacked because... it's FurAffinity.
I agree completely. However even so it's undeniable that FA still plays a massive role in any "furry artwork business" regardless of where else you are simply due to how massive it is.

I would go on a bit more but I don't wanna risk powerleveling too much.

Does anyone actually want to be "king of the furries" though?

Like is having an army of creepy perverts at your disposal really worth being forever known as the dude who leads a bunch of gross weirdos?

Iirc Dragoneer actually referred to the furry fandom as "his" fandom at one point, which caused a bit of drama back in the day.

The guy is also a gross pervert, make no mistake about it. The guy lacks a lot of self awareness, he is every bit the stereotype.

People have been saying this since the day after FurAffinity opened. Everyone in the fandom who isn't a total idiot has already left for greener pastures a long, long time ago. Myself included. The only two kinds of people still using FurAffinity today are:
- Autistics who don't know any better, since the site is basically furry DeviantArt.
- Major artists who only show up to upload commissions to maintain their outreach and visibility.

However even so it's undeniable that FA still plays a massive role in any "furry artwork business" regardless of where else you are simply due to how massive it is.

You're not wrong, FurAffinity still has a place in the fandom, however it's pretty much just been delegated to being "the last place you sign in to when you're uploading your new round of commissions and sample art so thirsty furs can find you". FurAffinity to this day is full of young and stupid idiots who have little to no grasp on money, it's easy business. Back when my partner and I were still very active in the fandom we'd still get about half of our commissions coming in from FA even though we'd been gone from the site for years, only to check in every few days for any new private messages or commission requests.

FA's userbase isn't going to just vanish when the website is eventually mercy-killed, they will probably migrate to Furry Network or SoFurry and nobody's commission business will take too serious of a blow.

One may as well ask if he was even ever competent in the first place.

bruh

I think I made a capital mistake in not making a perv comic for furries instead of the comic I do make. I could have lotsa $$$ by now.

I suppose it is never too late to kill your dignity and sell your soul.
Who would need diginity and a soul when money from furry deviants can be persuasive? Then again, that would also mean bearing to draw things that would make one go insane.
