Actually it says - up to for some of its lawyers "WilmerHale is at the upper end of the spectrum, charging up to $750 per hour for some of its lawyers."

That's going to be equity partners and those rates are always negotiable/elastic If they have a pet project or they'll have associates do the legwork, or if they just decide to write off some time due to cost sensitivity or whatever.

That's one thing that really concerns me about the "anti harassment" cottage industries where their "bona fides" are that they are experts because they were victims.
In a lot of ways, that can give a really fucked up skewed perspective from being too close to the problem.
and it doesn't really say anything about overall knowledge.

Attorneys in the US do have a professional obligation to take on a minimum amount of pro-bono hours per year. It is entirely possible that Chelsea lucked out.

I'm going to expand on this. I think there a lot of people who are jealous that Zoe Quinn, Anita Sarkeesian etc. are making money from their victimhood and are getting (mostly) positive attention from the media. The thing is, it doesn't matter how much money you make or how well known you are if you feel like shit. She clearly has a lot of mental problems and her money and popularity don't mean a thing as a result. She can't enjoy her 'spoils' so what's there for people to be jealous of? I receive no media attention, working a decent job making less than her but I have good mental health and a positive social circle, so my life is already better than hers.

Her only solution, hell, the only real solution for any lolcow is to delete their social media, get rid of their social circle and move into a different field of work.

Even pro bono hours are usually factored in for PR purposes. You don't just get involved in a total shitstorm for no reason.

I can't read minds, but the lazy and phoned-in subsequent involvement of Hale Wilmer (or whatever) seems to indicate they realized getting into this bullshit was a mistake.

As for the sociopath talk, she has borderline PD which is why the cycle won't end for her. People with BPD just self-destruct. I actually wonder what her family situation was like.

That is a scary way to live her life, she needs to remind a top dog in her social circle to be sorrunded in " righteousness opinions". How many of this guys can live this kind of live when they are willing to lie in stuff like "trial outcumes" just to save face and keep shitting in people they don't like, as is just matter of time before that one lie is to big to sustain appears.

well, not always.
Sometimes it's just small taters like Katrina survivors having various civil difficulties (landlord disputes, etc) upon relocation and like that and it just doesn't show up on really anyone's radar.

But other times s it's even done quietly if, say, the atty has interest or expertise in an area but it's controversial. Crim defense attys, for example, run into this where it's not even a question of guilt/innocence but the D would have a hard time getting adequate counsel via normal routes or there's something of particular legal interest in the case.

The general public often isn't able to separate the political/social/personal from jurisprudence so they really aren't in a position to understand.


In a way, that's what Zoe is doubling down on.. 'Eron is bad bad bad' -- but she makes no mention about the underlying issue of the lower court not hearing the 1st amend issues.

It's kind of like watching people go into small claims court and "overshare" trying to assassinate the other guys' character and paint them as fundamentally evil instead of sticking to the fact pattern of the case at hand and laying out the merits of their position

Like she talks about how it was all bullshit harassment...but then notice there were amicus briefs filed by scholars in good standing.

I think many people don't feel so much envy of her and more repugnancy as how toxic her and her dogs are to many online communities. I don't doubt she got ton of hate for stuff she didn't have to do and the Five Guys discourse become MRA like, but is surprising how many people aare willing to lie to others and themselves about the shitty stuff she blatanty does. 4 years before, sites like Neogaf will mock her for her declaration of ' victory' over Eron.

Personally, no I wouldn't.
I don't hate her or anything. I do think she does some seriously reckless and toxic shit to forward her image to gain accolades and garner attention that she can try to convert into eceleb-bux and opportunities beyond the merit of her actual work.

I'd be almost certain this isn't a new take, but my guess is some form of (relatively , though that's debatable) high functioning cluster B personality disorder.
I think she's essentially an apathic PR machine and highlights some of the problems that could plague the "look at me" generations now coming up
