Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

No amount of extra hardware power would have changed the outcome and the fact Gamefreak cannot into 3D development.
If you look at the 3D spinoff titles (Snap, Stadium, Coliseum, etc), they were all handled by different studios (HAL Laboratory, Genius Sonority, Bandai Namco) that were more competent.
It's less a case of Game Freak being incompetent at game development and more so an issue of them feeling the need to ship out a game every year.

The 3D games need more time in the oven, but alas that's not the case. At least with DLC they polish whatever they can before the next game.

What I'm saying is that NOW hardware is at a point where the gains are minimal and anyone who can't make games work on something like the switch is probably just incompetent.
Hardware limitations are still a thing. They didn't go away. Even in the PC gaming realm, if your PC is not up to snuff, its just going to struggle to play certain games, even if you turn the settings all the way down. The Switch is underpowered compared to its competition. Its going to struggle to run games its competition can run competently. That's just a matter of hard limits with the hardware.

It kind of depends on what you're using and what you're after. But shit, nowadays is mainly about graphics, for some reason

While I'm not a Crash fan, I have to question this take. To me this is a little like complaining that Contra doesn't play like Mario 3--the latter has omnidirectional scrolling and secret areas while the former only has one straight path you can take. Crash vs something like Mario 64 is the same sort of deal, just in 3D.

It stinks too much of the AVGN attitude of "all games must play like the ones I like."

Given what the Steam Deck has managed, I'm sure that Nintendo will be able to make a perfectly good system if they go with Switch 2. Especially if they release it around the same time as Sony/Microsoft's next systems, which are supposed to come out in 2026/2028.

Holy shit, it's true. For some reason, I thought the psx came out later than that.
The steam deck is an absolute monster in size when you sit it next to the switch. Sure, a switch 2 would by default be more powerful but if they are unwilling to change its form factor it won't compete with the deck.

If they release it 3-5 years from now, I can see APUs improving enough that they can keep it looking about the same.

That said, I'm not sure why they would need it to look the same.

They wouldn't need it to look the same but I have doubts they'd want to increase it's size. If anything the switch 2 is going to be thinner, but I'd leave room for them making the screen larger and keeping joycon compatibility with the rails.

Goldeneye coming to Switch January 27th
Somewhat notable Goldeneye content creator Graslu00 has been sperging frequently today over how poor the NSO version of Goldeneye seems to be.

Also a number of replies he's made hammering on about the changes, but I don't feel like digging too deeply into those.

Graslu00 is the only person I'd actually listen to about this shit. They literally play Goldeneye (and it's mods) in every imaginable configuration.

Unfortunate that it's a shitty emulation, especially since they couldn't get it out for the big 007 Anniversary last year on top of it. Guess I'll stick to PC emulation.

Expect a GameXplain video on Friday “proving” how enhanced the Switch version is by comparing it to the fuzzy analog output of an original N64 on a modern TV.

To be honest, playing N64 games on Switch just feels wrong anyway. So many were designed around the N64's three-pronged monster that they just don't feel right on anything else.

That said, I've always thought of an NSO subscription as basically just the modern equivalent of rental stores--I keep up my membership fee and I get access to these games.

My subscription is gonna expire next month and I'm kinda wondering if I'll even renew it. Like, when I first got my Switch, it was a useful thing to have at a time when I only had two or so games. Minor emulation issues were fine to put up with in exchange for suddenly having dozens more games I could play with my Switch. But now I've got a library of Switch games... and to be honest its actually almost depressing that a lot of what I use this system for is retro gaming. There's just something weird about using the Switch to play Super Mario Kart when I could pull out my actual SNES and give it some love, ya know?

But yeah.... its like, I could see obsessing over Goldeneye's emulation if this was being sold on the eShop, but as it is, its a game Nintendo's gonna be basically giving away to members.

Sleep Derpivation posting so I think my mind was all over the place there.

"See its not a tranny molesting a little boy, it's a magical faerie that only looks like a 46yo man with a five o'clock shadow"
"Don't struggle"
"Just endure it for a little bit!"
"Just a little more!"
And when the scene fades back in from the black screen Lucas is face down in the water.
Now that the anti-capitalist stuff is pointed out I guess I can see that, I suppose I was just dense and didn't put it together.

As for the Lucas rape scene, it seems like it could very easily be taken that way--probably on purpose as a joke--but someone in the comments of that video said he was just being drowned in the PSI pool and he thinks Smash Bros confirms it (but I don't have any idea what he's referring to).

And I'm definitely not defending LGBT or any pro-tranny shit. I think I've, if anything, been far too vocal about my burning hatred of LGBT. I'm sure if I ever get into a fight with a tranny or faggot and defended myself they'd have a mile of posts to wrap around my neck to spin it as a hate crime. But I don't care, fuck trannies.

Except it's not definitive child molestation.
One guess which thread this is going in.

Maybe I'm just not using him right, but Bowser just seems so weak compared to the other playable characters in Mario Rabbids.

Outside of taking hits or destroying cover (or forcing people out of it) he can't really do much of anything else.
