My favorite posts are the ones that just get laid off but can’t help but simp for the corporation that just laid them off on their LinkedIn post.
Nobody needs LinkedIn. I had one up until very recently. Anyone who has true connections with other people and jobs don’t need it. It’s mostly just getting blasted with numerous offers for entry level jobs. It’s become Facebook for wagies.Do people outside 1mil+ locals even need LinkedIn? I don't see how, unless that's your goal.
Yeah my understanding is that it’s doing just enough to not get fired. People can last a surprisingly long time doing this. I’ve seen people do it for years. Most commonly I see it for people within a few years of retirement. They could walk out the door at any time but they have just enough subject matter expertise where they don’t get canned for the occasional question that needs answered. It happens a lot more these days, especially as there are a bunch of ass kissers competing for a shrinking number of promotions. So they’ll keep fighting for those fewer jobs while everyone else just does the bare minimum. However there is always the people who end up on the wrong side of quiet quitting so anyone doing this should get their resume polished and sock away money just in case.Actually using it to describe people doing their duties and nothing more is insane. As if simply doing your job as agreed is laziness on par with doing nothing.
