Played for a couple of hours so far and have barely progressed the story in favour of exploring the castle. Messing around with doors in portraits, solving a puzzle to unlock secret passages, following floating keys around to find locked chests, following treasure maps and finding little notes that help decode magic doors; the game really nails that Harry Potter feel and sense of discovery.
The main story is nothing notable so far. Really, the most interesting aspect about it has been the Goblin Rebellion developments as they delve a bit into the relations between wizards, Goblin Rebels and regular goblins. These guys are so extreme you have a side quest about dealing with them threatening, mugging and abusing one Goblin Artist for not joining the revolution. Though I do find it fucking hilarious that a bunch of dangerous terrorists has settled into the countryside, are terrorizing the surrounding villages and towns right outside the most prestigious school in the Wizarding World; and the only person doing anything about it is the fucking school kids.
Three things that have annoyed me so far:
1 - You have to manually re-apply your desired cosmetic gear every time you equip something new.
2 - The counter/parry button is the same button you place a spell in, so often you'll find yourself failing your counter because the game will still think you're holding the 'use abilities' button even two seconds after you've let go, which is a real bitch in a chaotic battle.
3 - When fighting multiple wizard enemies, the auto aim started really screwing with me as my guy starts randomly shooting at the farfest mother fucker while Duncan McNasty is dry humping him. And then I'll use the lock on system to control my shots; only for the system to either refuse to lock onto certain enemies or my guy will flat out attack everybody BUT the person I'm targeting. Aiming at the right guy is pretty damn important when the enemies start having spell-specific shields on them.
I just unlocked the talent trees and got a boost of euphoria from turning incendiary into a fucking fire bomb and accio into a group hug. It's fucking bonfire night for the Goblins!
