Based on what you're saying, it sounds like you watched the night show after it technically was in decline for some time so that meh impression makes sense. Nick pre-all-night-toast-party was much more watchable.

The night show USED to be a lot of fun at least for the odd breed of autism that existed between The Dick Show and Kiwifarms. Nick's persona pre-lawtube especially was quite entertaining as he was pretty good at ranting about lolbertarian shit, making fun of people, and had very sharp interviews. Oh and being consistent while doing this, or doing a damn good job pretending, was pretty neat. It was a good combination of factors. Was.

I don't know when it stopped being as fun exactly, but I'm pretty sure it coincided with him discovering toasts were a good way to make a shitload of money off people, which in turn attracted MORE of the people who demand toasts. I know I dropped off in favor of hours of starcraft shit sometime after Kim Potter but the toasts had moved in strong before then.
