I'm new to this debacle - why did ethan go after this guy so hard?

It's actually the other way around, Ryan Kavanaugh went after Ethan with like 3 lawsuits. It started with Ethan using the Triller app, who had an exclusive streaming arrangement for a Logan Paul boxing match as a PPV event. Triller was a doomed shithole app to begin with, but they went hard with lawsuits against any and everyone who used Logan Paul boxing footage for commentary, even though it should've been Fair Use. They basically threatened everybody on YT and Twitch who had used footage to either subscribe to the app by a certain deadline for retroactive forgiveness, and later something like a $50,000 settlement fee to avoid a lawsuit from the vexatious owner Kavanaugh.

Ethan obviously had the money and legal experience to say "fuck you" and took it to court, and won the first case. However, while it was going on, Kavanaugh opened two more lawsuits against Ethan regarding his criticism of the app, and then of Kavanaugh as a shitty person(he is). Kavanaugh really baited Ethan in telling him to stop talking shit on "his toy podcast" about Kavanaugh being unable to drive legally due to DUIs, not paying a mid-wife/newborn live in nurse a year's wages, bankrupting multiple companies, and citing many of his criticisms from LA industry magazines.

Kavanaugh was ordered to pay $60K in court cost fees regarding the first lawsuit's dismissal, but now Ethan's possibly on the losing end of slander and libel, so we'll see where this goes. Kavanaugh is the kind of rich asshole who gets rich by driving other people's shit into the ground but skimming off the top & abandoning ship before it goes down.

People are missing the real reason Ethan went after him and accused him of looking like a sex offender.

Because he was slapped with a bullshit false rape case and beat it easily. Lefties were screeching fit to burst when it happened. Ethan just couldn't accept he was wrong so doubled down and now he's getting fucked for it. Good. Ethan Klein is a nigger.

I know it's a common joke in the legal board, but this is another case where I wish both sides could lose.

that's brett kavanaugh

Remember that southpark episode where cartman decides to fake having to tourettes so he can freely go around insulting people because he thinks its funny and then it ends up bitting him in the ass when he ends up being so used to saying whatever comes to mind without thinking he ends up conditioning himself into getting tourettes for real?

Ah, disregard, I suck cocks etc.
tbh i had to look it up when i initially saw the feature because i was wondering why a supreme court justice would be having internet slapfights with ethan klein, only to realize that the supreme court justice is BRETT kavanaugh, and the dude suing ethan is RYAN kavanaugh

How did that come about? Did Michael Obama send that to him personally? Or did Ethan get AI software in advance from one of the tribe?
No, it's real, no AI-fakery. Michel Obama was actually impressed by Ethan's moves. I think it was Ethan's dance moves she was referring to.

If she sent it to him personally? Probably not. I guess it was probably publicly on Twitter or Facebook or something.

But here's the thing: The original recipient though, while named Ethan, is not the same Ethan as the subject of this thread. But who's to stop anyone from using that clip in their YouTube-intro as a funny meme, especially if you share the same first name.

I wonder if Ryan is a practicing jewish man? The "jews" who pay lip service to their heritage and faith, only to wield it as a perpetual victim card, and are secular/ agnostic/ atheistic always try to tear down and destroy those who have faith and are good people.

Ethan strikes me as the typical self loathing/ hating secular jewish man, who only cares about his heritage because it provides a good cover for when he fucks up.

I remember when he was sued by that parkour video guy for a fair use video, and everyone was so hyped when Ethan won because it set a precedent for fair use.
He actually didn't though. It kinda irks me that people keep throwing around the word "precedent." It gives Ethan a too much credit.

On the Federal level, you can not cite a District court decision as a binding precedent. It has to be published circuit appeals decision or higher to be a binding precedent that other judges are required follow. Hoss' case was filed in S.D.N.Y., and he didn't bother to take it any higher.

What Ethan did was win a case brought by an unfunny faggot, and he brought some arguments concerning fair use that you could maybe copypasta if you found yourself in a similar situation. However, as it stands right now, no court is required to rule the same way they ruled in Ethan's case.

It's my favorite part of the roller-coaster ride: where the guy who had an unbelievable stroke of luck carry him up to intense heights, who then proceeded to burn every last shred of goodwill the world might've had for him, who decided to coast rather than to create or innovate, realizes that climbing a mountain and getting on an amusement park ride are two very, very different things.

He's got plenty of assets to liquidate even in the worst of cases, so he'll fall plenty soft, but the guy's only skill thusfar has genuinely been to be in the right place at the right time.

The guy does kinda look like Weinstein I guess. I'm confused as to why this retard of dreidel descent would want to push that comparison, to the point of being sued over it, though.

He's playing a constant game of "I'm not touching you!"
He wants to imply the guy is a sex pest, but can't outright say "he's a sex pest" because he'll be sued, so he thinks saying "he looks like someone that is a sex pest" shields him from a lawsuit while still basically calling him a sex pest, which obviously it didn't.

Lol. Lmao even.

:null: I erroneously featured this stating that Klein was suing Kavanaugh. He is not. Klein bought a domain asking if Kavanaugh looks like Harvey Weinstein. Kavanaugh is suing for damages, I believe for defamation. The California anti-SLAPP statute (which is similar to the one in Texas brought down Vic's lawsuit) is very strong, but Kavanaugh has met the burden of evidence to proceed. Klein is now in an expensive phase of proceedings where he must actually argue the facts of the case, and is on the hook for a lot of money.

The judgement is particularly damning because it includes language that is indicative the court already believes Ethan is guilty of the charges and he is now fighting a losing battle.

It also references statements that Ethan has made on his H3 podcast after the lawsuit was initiated and that he could incur additional damages every time a knowingly false statement was made on H3. From what his fans are saying, he has reiterated his claims dozens of times.

Ethan's response has been to insult the judge as a "crusty old fuck" and say he's appealing the decision.
I would LOVE to see Ethan come back and try to exist in the landscape today. The lawsuits that he was making would NEVER fly in the judicial system today and you have to adapt and overcome the fact that like... You can’t even defame people bro, I’d love to see him try and make a comeback.

You could use an Iran-Iraq war analogy, in the sense that hopefully both sides lose.

Early Life section couldn't protect him this time. Eat shit, Klein.

I mean, I think Ethan Klien sucks hard and is a huge faggot but I don't see how asking if somebody looks like somebody else is defamatory.
