I don't have much bad things to say about Bush Sr, he is responsible for the surplus by the end of the decade because he did the unthinkable and raised taxes, Bill Clinton merely shifted the brackets for a more optimal inflow. The amount of high level stuff going on in 88-92 is pretty crazy and I doubt any of the 21st century Presidents could have come close to handling the USSR dissolution as well as Bush Sr.

Exports do not equal income from nation, and they aren't the only reason China can't destroy the US without destroying itself, though they do make up a portion of that. If they declared a nation wide embargo of the US, that'd mean that the US could respond in kind, kicking it off of trading on the dollar and any other numerous amount of sanctions, all of which east asian countries would follow them on, because China is so retarded they can't even gain influence in their own back yard. If china did that, it'd also mean that they would lose every investment they've made in the US and US friendly countries, crippling it and leading it to economic collapse.

This isn't a bug, this is a feature. China didn't need any influence in Far East (more workforce? for what reason?). They need some influence in Central Asia and Africa (agriculture and stuff).
