I sure hope there's more to this, or else that's a pretty concerning precedent that you can drag people in front of the courts just for conjuring an idea you consider unflattering.

Typically anti-SLAPPs aren't there to litigate the facts, just to establish that facts exist which exceed the "bald recitation" of causes of action.

So broadly, instead of "he defamed me" it's "he said A which is false, and B damages resulted, which constitutes defamation".

What evidence Ryan has may not stand up to cross exam or any kind of half-rigorous analysis, but at this point the judge is convinced that Ryan has at least brought facts, which if taken as true, support his alleged causes of action and make for a case that can be actually litigated. "Taken as true" is a big if.

So that litigation of the case might easily be Ryan losing, lest we forget those lulzy lawsuits filed related to Ethan pirating PPV events which this spat originates from.

I'm generally with you on the "how is this defamation?" train, but much like you can talk yourself into going to jail, I suspect Ethan may have talked himself into a civil suit he can't anti-SLAPP his way out of.

I checked the original Tech Times article that was posted, and it says that 90% of anti-SLAAP cases are granted in the state of California in general, not that each judge grants them, nor that this woman in particular has a very low count. No idea if it's actually as low as he claims, but my guess is he told a lie that sounded truthy to try to paint himself as the victim.

It's probably spread across all judges, and it just happens that Ethan's conduct is so egregious and any number of judges would have denied his motion.

Which is not good for Ethan.

There are plenty of spheres where Jews have a great deal of influence; finance, Hollywood, politics...

I don't think YouTube is one of those spheres. In reality, while his content circa 2015 was decent, his success was primarily predicated on the algorithm promoting his channel rather than his own talent. This is normal for most YouTubers. That said, he got so big he was no longer reliant on the algorithm to keep his numbers healthy.

The other thing is that Youtube actively courts Hollywood. Remember Will Smith?
