The lead Factorio developer had a development blog post in which he recommended watching some lectures by Robert C. Martin (aka 'Uncle Bob') for fundamental programming project management skills.

Well, turns out 'Uncle Bob' is a real old school type and has has some notoriety for having spoken against diversity programs in tech sector jobs. Redditors got mad that he would openly recommend someone that is "problematic", and in response he told them to fuck off and leave him out of the cancel culture stuff.

Redditors, of course, really did not like that. And that's about it. They seethed for a while, Factorio is still a wildly successful game, etc, etc.

It really is just so satisfying when someone just says "I don't care, fuck off" in response to their whining. Even reading about it here in summarized form puts a smile on my face.

Good lord. We haven't seen a level of sheer catastrophic meltdown from TRAs like this ever before, and it's not even close. At this point coping is an impossible fantasy, seething is in the rearview mirror, and even dilating may be iffy. Even the most offline people I know are picking up on this. I think a large part of why they're so enraged is that the massive success of this game is showing them that all the validation and support they get may be a mile wide, but it's an inch deep. Lots of people who have never met or barely know any TIMs are willing to play along and say "yeah, sure, ok, trans women are women!" because they have some vague idea that it's the right thing to do or it will make someone, somewhere happy. But when TRAs need people to do the absolute bare minimum action to inconvenience themselves (just don't buy a video game to prevent us from literally being genocided!) everyone is just laughing them off. They're realizing that, well, "all the validation they get is two-faced and half-hearted," and it's breaking their brains.

This isn't the first time I have seen them reference Rowling as a "closeted transman" because she has brought up feeling uncomfortable with some female stereotypes and with the general treatment of women.

Which, of course, means she must be a man. Which in turn means that in order to be an actual woman you must be 100% in favor of female stereotyping and the way women are treated in society, all the time.

Sometimes I think the end goal is to turn every outspoken or non-submissive woman into a "trans man" as early in life as possible, so that the TiMs can then tell them to shut up and stop using their male privilege to talk over transwomen. And ultimately make "womanhood" all-male so that they can prance around fulfilling their sissy fantasies forever without anyone left to criticize them.
