Why does anyone care about lolcows? If you described the Gunt as "fat alcoholic drug addicted White trash streamer with 30 non-botted viewers," most people would say "meh," and not care. What makes cows interesting, to me at least, it understanding the how and the why of what brought them to the point in there lives where they are considered lolcows. It is the context that allows you to become more immersed in their failings. The guy gets an average of 30 live viewers a show. Who cares
I have been following Surfer's antics since that weird period right after the stream.me days when PPP was pretty much just streaming to 40 random people in a cytube since he had no other audience. Surfer is fascinating to me and watching his slow downfall has been kinda sad. There was a point when he was a fairly intelligent eccentric, who would occasionally spit these nuggets of wisdom off the cuff of his sleeve, and not even be aware that he had made a meaningful observation as if it was something that should be obvious to anyone.
Both Ashton and PPP have had a massive falling off as they succumbed to their individual weaknesses, it is just less telling in Ashton's case because he is always playing a character and has trouble understanding other people or interacting in an authentic manner. Surfer's descent is much more noticeable, even if he has no audience to speak of. Watching the years of drug and alcohol abuse chip away at his sanity until he had this psychotic break is like watching a train wreck in slow motion.
I firmly believe that, at one point, Surfer was the cool outgoing friend that autistic PPP hung around with. All the stories they used to tell of when they were younger are about Surfer being the guy that got invited to parties and let PPP tag along since they were friends. They used to talk about how Surfer helped PPP get jobs selling fuel contracts or CutCo knives, and how Surfer taught him how to interact with people and learn to basically grift them as a salesman.
