💼 Careercow Anthony Cumia - A once successful radio host crashes and burns, turning on all his fans and the drama around it

I have been listening back to the XM-SXM run and am up into January 2009 when Obama was sworn into office. Listening to those shows now in 2023, his racism is so much more blatant than I remember it being when those shows first aired. His racism was starting to show more and more from 2007 to 2008, but when Obama came on the scene he lost his mind.

At the time he was still trying to hide behind the idea of being the “radio character playing up the racist angle for shock jock purposes“ but it is so clear there was no exaggeration there for humor. In fact he was holding back his virulent racism.

Cut to all these years later and this singular obsession with blacks mixed with his xanax and alcohol addled brain have led here. Calling for a literal race war.

Maybe all those hours he spent on niggermania and stormfront wasn’t such a good idea after all.

He has literally lost everything because of his fixation on blacks. He is gonna end up with dementia in the next 10 years spending the last of his fortune on a home care nurse to care for him who will probably just happen to be black. Would be the perfect ending to his miserable life.
That's what bugged me about his firing. The shit he said on the air regularly was multitudes more racist than the statement that did him in.

Zumock comes across like a barnacle leaching nutrients from whatever he attaches himself to
I'd love to see Zumock and Shuli glom onto one another, as it'd be the barnacle battle to end all barnacle battles. I'd be putting my shekels on Shuli to defeat Zumock in that battle.

Two barnacles latched on to each other, both sinking into the abyss. Speaking of Shuli, the network has started a fourth or fifth show starring him and Bob Levy. He is becoming a marginally more professional Patrick Michael.

The main issue in regard to him getting fired was that he literally got into a physical altercation with a random black woman, posted her picture online and called her every name in the book while wishing death on her and everyone with the same skin color.

On air can be regarded as an "exaggeration for the sake of comedy" but this was pretty clearly targeted harassment of someone who was not even close to being a public figure. Additionally, SiriusXM (the merged company) clearly held the Opie and Anthony show in extremely low regard and this was likely the chance they were looking for to clean house. The O&A show, while funny to listeners, generated a huge amount of negative controversy for the company when "no publicity is bad publicity" was no longer true. The show had a constant slew of retards coming in, like Bobo, but an extremely tumultuous staffing situation as well (extremely hostile to Interns, producers and security changing constantly, most fans pirating/social media offiste, ex-producer killed himself, etc).

By the time Anthony lost his fucking mind they were probably psyched to get rid of him. Opie would get the boot a few years later for something that also would have flown under the radar in their hayday. Jim and Sam show probably costs $40 to make per episode - and that's the charge the wrestler asks for when taking a photo with Jim Norton.

She was acting like a sheboon and attacked him. There was a dozen reasons to fire Ant and that altercation wasn't really one of them.

She didn't chimp out over nothing, Ant posted the stealth photos he took of her. He earned everything that happened during that encounter. And yes, calling for a nigger genocide while sharing evidence with the world that you are probably a sexual predator will always cost you your job. The astounding thing is that he still takes photos of women, you'd think that having some bitch cave his head in while the buck niggers he hates so much watch and laugh would have taught him how unwise that is.

It really was - all it did (even if the sheboon did randomly attack him out of nowhere, which knowing Ant was almost certainly not the case) was show that Ant was an even bigger corporate liability then they even thought.

Doubly so when you know (as Opie and Anthony did and often complained about on air) that SXM was just looking for a reason to get rid of the show - they were clearly contented to just let the show die off slowly (via no advertising or investment) and quietly until Anthony decided to give SXM his own head on a silver platter. Anthony (at the time) was a multi millionaire getting paid huge money to perform on a show and keep his nose clean - this is why most "normal" celebrities have publicists manage their twitter/outreach/website and shit.

He pretty clearly did not read the room correctly during his years at SXM (despite several "untouchable" people being let go, SXM pretty expressly stating the only show they would invest in/go to bat for was Stern's, the huge rift between him and Opie, etc) and acted like a complete lunatic in an environment where that was pretty clearly not acceptable.

His guys that were facing the same charges with other judges got their charges dropped. To hear him tell it, he got unlucky with the judge and they tried to make an example out of him. He also hemmed up a rapist while he was in prison with a bent up soup can lid.
Doubtful.

Ant's gambling blow ups are historic but unfortunately most of them aren't recorded in any way. He played a lot of high roller blackjack back in the day and would blow up on other players at the table if they played in a way he didn't like. Funny enough, there is a statistically "correct" way to play blackjack, and Ant doesn't play that way. Any proper blackjack player that crossed paths with Ant probably thought he was retarded. The casinos probably loved him because he was a mark. I'd love to know how much money he's lost over the years. Jimmy said he's seen Ant play $20,000/hand before, and watching how reckless Ant was in a casino gave Jimmy anxiety attacks. He's probably lost more money than he will earn for the rest of his life, and he owns a fucking media company.

Credit to Natty Ann from the ShuliAnonymous subreddit who attended DabblerCon and recorded the performances. Here's Nana's set:

Fawkin Killinit Kumia! I bet these broads laughed their fuckin menopausal cootahs off. I couldn't make it through the end of the set cuz I'm not transgindahed, but I bet he told plenty of jokes about how his friend Jim Norton once drank half a six pack. Fawking brütal.

Nana is having a drunken twitter meltdown about... You guessed it:

He spent a cumulative quarter of his set looking at dudes in the crowd and making retarded comments about their clothes.

It's crazy how both Cumia and Hughes were at some point multi-millionaires (I'm pretty sure Gregorio still is, Cumia who knows) because of a radio show that would use retarded people the same way Mengele would have if he was a comedian, and all they do every day is bitch about something or other every day like two old Jewish women. Gregg has that beautiful beach house view, and he's sitting in front of it going I DUN WANNA TALK ABOUT DA SHOW ANYMORE *5 minutes later* DEY ALL HATED ME CUZ I WAS A LIBERAL, and so on.

Cumia, in an unintentional tribute to his hero, was living out his comedic downfall in an underground facility, getting worse and worse guests over time, and now lives in an apartment that Henry Hill would have lived in after ratting on Jimmy. The spec house bullshit is almost exactly like the one Carm had in The Sopranos too.

Citizen Kane more like Citizen Undertaker or sumtin tss tss

It's infuriating to watch him sitting in his Manhattan penthouse with his back to an amazing view of the city while he tells tedious stories about trying to break toothpick dioramas to an audience of like ten people.

Wait, I'm confused. Does Ant not own the house he had those pictures taken in?

That shoebox apartment is pathetic, though. He's been living in it for a year now and someone who was really rolling in dough would have said "fuck this" and broken the lease after a few months for something bigger. Instead he's getting in drunk screaming fights with his girlfriend because their bed is in the very next room and he won't stop playing video games and chatting with friends until 4 in the morning.

Even before they got fired, they both openly discussed that Opie saved all his money and Ant didn't. Opie and his entire family for at least 2 generations should be absolutely fine if they don't squander it. Ant probably had enough money in savings to get him through the next firing under the assumption that they gang would inevitably get back together. That didn't happen and Compound Media didn't produce the revenue that he thought it would. I'm sure it pays better than tin-knocking, but Ant's days of living high on the hog are long gone and it's his own damn fault. The only real investment I'm aware of him making was dumping 100k into Citadel stock right before it tanked.

Well Greg knew once Ant got fired, that his time would be limited because without Ant as his foil, it was going to really expose him as the boring nothing he really is, and I say that as someone who doesn't mind the guy. Greg planned ahead because he knew the gravy train was coming to an end, and Ant thought the good times would never end and now he is paying the price. I think if they wanted to get back together it would have happened but they pretty much hate each other, and Greg would be wise to stay clear of Anthony at this point, he is just too far gone.

Ant also apparently didn't take an active part in contract negotiations - leaving that to Opie also.

Opie was keenly aware that the negations were getting tougher and tougher and the money was getting smaller and smaller and told Ant several times to save up because the road was going to end and end soon. Ant also spending money constantly hurt them in negotiations because he would just "Yeah sure" to whatever the offer was and never entertained the idea of doing something else for more money.
