It's an apt comparison. Rowling has gone in a number different directions than she planned. The most obvious one to see is Snape.

Where originally he is just a terrible and menacing teacher, over time she turns him into an anti-hero with tragic past.

Tolkien can be criticized for a number of things, including a plodding prose style at times, but failing to plan out his work or write in a disciplined manner isn't one of them. Every page in LOTR has at least ten pages of written lore that never made it into the actual novels, enough to make a career for his son Christopher out of just processing them.

I never actually read ASOIAF or any part of it, but I read a few of his novels and short story collections from before it. I remember them as bretty gud but little to no details about them. Other than Fevre Dream, a creditable addition to the vampire novel subgenre.

Also he is fat.

The one thing that really drew my attention when I tried reading A Song of Ice and Fire was just how lavish his descriptions of foods and banquets were.

So yeah, he is definitely fat. Not just in body but also in spirit.

I'm genuinely at a loss. Same-sex marriage is legal. Getting the snip is legal. Tranny surgery is legal and always has been. Tranny hormones are legal and always have been. They are explicitly protected by anti-discrimination laws at the federal level, and in states that permit them to change their gender at an official (government) level, businesses and gov't entities in the state are obligated to recognize that changed gender and behave accordingly. Even in deep-red pure-evil anti-troon states that "force" them into prison based on their real sex they're still afforded special protection (protective custody).

Many health insurance plans now cover tranny surgery, and so do many employers even if the insurance they provide doesn't. They're not required to by law, but they're under increasing pressure anyway from all sides (particularly the medical industry, which makes a fucking fortune enabling these freaks) and it's all but inevitable that it'll become standard coverage in the coming years -- it's too lucrative to nudge into the "cosmetic, voluntary" category unless there's a sudden uptick in public sentiment that it's barbaric and it goes the way of the lobotomy (fingers crossed!).

What the hell is even left to fight for? I can't think of a single right I possess as a normal person that the nearest "cut my dick-n-nuts off plz because I iz a gurl lol!" dipshit does not.

Yeah, that is what I always found funny on some people that hate Martin with a passion, they hate him because he didn't finished his fantasy series when for his entire life he has being a Sci-fi writter and they never bothered to try and read his previous works. The fact that his only fantasy series and something he wasn't particularly interested in was what propelled him to stardom is truly because the universe loves irony.

It's really a great description. I have read one book and one short story from him other than ASOIAF(I only like the first book), it is called "Dying of the Light", and it is kinda shit. It has space people that create special gay bonds between two or three men and then get a woman to share. The short story is called "The Rouge prince, or King's brother" with detailed description about an uncle penis covered in blood from fucking his niece (But the anthology itself is nice, I discovered a lot of great writers from it). I don't know why this guy insist on being a degen in all of his writings but there is something seriously wrong with him.
