It means they are following the atomic half life model. While the continuances will be sooner, there will always be another one. Down to picoseconds, it will continue forever.

We’ve been saying this for over a year. Chris is one of those bizarre edge cases that the system really has no way of dealing with. In the old days he would have been permanently institutionalized (and probably lobotomized). He’s natures perfect lolcow. He’s clearly mentally deficient and autistic. But he’s also way too dangerous to let wander on his own for fear of what he will stick his duck in next. He has that perfect blend of empathy and unhinged sociopathy that makes a really good Batman Villain. One of the goofier ones from the 60’s. But the modern system has no place to put him. It doesn’t even know how to begin dealing with him. They will probably eventually have to cut him loose with vouchers for 60 days at the Roach Hotel down by the interstate. And court orders to stay away from 14BC and Nursing Homes. And the next Saga will begin.
If Chris were born a generation earlier I think he really would have been lobotomized. The transsexualism and delusions about godhood would have been enough for that time period. It would make him easier to deal with, and he's already incontinent so it's not like they'd worry about adding that problem. Maybe he'd be into Woody Woodpecker and Popeye (Woodeye? Poppecker?) instead of Sonichu.
Back then there were mental institutions for people like Chris, so the courts wouldn't have had a problem sending him there. Many of these were horrible places to warehouse the mentally ill, and they were eventually shut down in a mismanaged process of deinstitutionalization that has lead to the use of jails and prisons to house people in need of mental health services. If Chris were released from a hospital like this back then, he probably would be dead by now or in prison today.
As an example of a terrible institution, I was just reading about the
Willowbrook State School, which shut down in 1988, when Chris would have been six years old. It faced numerous scandals. At one point 90% of the children admitted to the school were catching hepatitis A. Studies were done to investigate ways to fight these outbreaks, which increased the risk to 100% because they were feeding feces to retarded children.
Robert F. Kennedy toured the place in 1965 and described horrible conditions there.
It was not publicly known at the time, but RFK's sister Rosemary was in a different, much nicer mental hospital after she had been lobotomized. She died in 2005.
Chris once went ghost hunting in an abandoned mental hospital. Knowing in some dim way the history of that place,
he left a heartfelt note and a drawing for the ghosts. It was picked up by a ween four hours later. In 2022, Chris was admitted to this hospital's successor, Western State Hospital.
