It’s out of 4.0 and it’s pretty hard to get grades that low. Students are “tracked” in courses that meet their abilities and so if you’re getting C-/D+ in the lowest track, you’re fucking retarded or you’re not showing up or both. Most likely both. It’s grim.

Also worth noting that excluding gym/physical education, Fat’s GPA was 1.2. He’s a real stupid piece of shit by this measure (and all measures we have since).

IIRC, it works like this:
A's are worth 4 points, B's 3, C's 2, D's 1, F's 0.

You add those up and average them based on your class in each grade. So a 4.0 is straight A's. Sometimes they'll factor in your "weighted" GPA if you take the advanced classes.

In short, Pat is a fat spastic who barely made it, mostly because his mom worked for the school and they let him graduate out of pity.

I got hung up with the white page of death on KF for a couple days and then I was sick this weekend but I do plan on continuing my review when I'm not so busy later on this week. It's not just the sci-fi that's bad, it's the everything. I was thinking I wouldn't have enough to talk about to make chapter-by-chapter reviews worthwhile but it's just the opposite. There's so much I want to say that I don't know what to cut out. Every paragraph finds a new and interesting way to have something wrong with it.

Grade Point system. North America uses 4 points, Germany uses I think five. UK also uses four points.
a 1.7GPA means he's a -C student. However, without the grades in Physical Education he's a 1.2GPA student, or D student. Being a D student this means his average percentage in his courses was between 65-66%. At least here.
