I've taken a wack at the description. Can anyone help me flesh it out or rewrite it? I'm not quite happy with it.
Here's what I have at the moment:
A Disney Adult is much like Justice Potter Stewart's famous quote about porn, you know it when you see it.
A Disney Adult is not just someone who might enjoy the company's IP, or who has fond memories of films or trips to the parks, nor are they even a family who indulges occasionally as a tradition with their children. Instead, the Disney Adult goes further beyond.
These individuals define themselves by what they consume, and have made their consumption of Disney products and parks part of their core identity.
You could even argue that these hyper-consumerist individuals are the ones for shitting up the parks and merch for everyone else, as their constant arms-race against Disney is what has led to things like the creation of the Genie system and their constant drive to consoom enables the creation of low-quality products that are guaranteed to sell.
This comment inspired me to include a bit in aforementioned description in the OP.I personally think Disney adults are cute

This is in the right direction and I would add further that these whales and manchildren are suffering from an acute case of Peter Pan syndrome who think money can buy them happiness.
I wonder if there are statistics you can find that back up the idea that a good chunk of Disney's audience and park attendees are childless, single, and are 35+ years old.
If there are, DEFINITELY include them in the OP.

I feel like there's subcategories of disney adults and i would like to go over the ones ive found
strokediscow: these are the people who are posting the 200+ dollars of food that they buy , they go to disney to gorge themselves on all the food and then act surprised when they cant fit onto the rides. they are the same people who complain that their mobility scooters are a legitimate disability
peter trans: These are the disney adults who are constantly screeching for diversity in the parks/movies to an annoying level, you can find them unwashed outside the spanish pavilions screeching about how "problematic" it is. they will send 500$ on merch for any of the POC characters and will take any criticism of the films as racist
martyrs of the mountain: these are in interesting breed of disney adults, they are the ones going on social media and to the parks to protest all changes the park is doing. most notably they are the ones buying shirts that read "briar lives matter" they will consoom anything that reminds them of the "good old day" they are screaming about the removal of splash mountain and yet haven't ridden it since it opened

The Maelstrom becoming a Frozen ride brought a LOT of the martyrs out. I enjoyed it way to much when the ride screws up as it often does and Elsa has no face when you get to the top of the lift hill.
What makes it more fun is right when you get here you drop about 3 feet and go backwards so its like a lovely jump scare for the kiddos.

but yeah attesting to the core issue there is def a difference between "weirdos who like Disney World" and "Disney Adults (TM)"
my mom was a Disney attractions nerd going back to the OG World's Fair version of Small World
I was hitting WDW quite a while before I crawled out her cunt, and didn't slow down until I started working
we'd make a habit of parking somewhere with snacks/drinks in World Showcase and just go full Statler and Waldorf on the crowds, be they foreigners or USA
tbh it was probably one of the things that readied me for the sort of onlines that led to the farms
eventually I was a half hour drive away and mostly working weekends and would rock the weekdays-only pass that they didn't really publicize
have an irl buddy who's Disney Park nerd enough that he's bought Universe Of Energy CM gear online
been drinking buddy level pals with a few CMs enough to know about the term "Mouschwitz"
but among all those including myself there's been plenty of times we've seen the really fucked up Disney Adults and we're like "yipes, just yipes"

I’ll admit I’m a bit of a Muppet sperg myself so I have a bit of a soft spot for him. However I will never, EVER visit Sesame Place on my own. I would make sure to have at least one kid with me.

The few times I remember watching the Disney Channel at a friend's house (our cable system didn't have it) was during the 90s, before they went all in on the tween sitcoms and stuff and seemed to be genuinely confused about what to do with their channel. It all seemed very safe and wienery, like Nickelodeon with all the hip 90s edge ditched. I'm not against family friendly entertainment, far from it, but this seemed completely neutered- which is funny when you think that so many of Disney's animated films veer into some territory that's darker and scarier for younger children.
The only good thing I remember was DuckTales reruns, and I could get on Channel 5. Everything else seemed way too defanged. This was an era when I was staying up late to watch Beavis and Butt-head, I can't watch a fucking Little Mermaid animated series.
Disney Channel fans were losers.

Little girls still like their classic princess stuff. Disney is kind of lame nowadays though, if i were a kid i'd much prefer the universal parks, as well as anime and videogames who kids today like much more than western animation. The marketing for adults must be filling in those gaps where they are loosing ground.

They're just as cow-worthy as Disney Adults, IMO. They come off as wanting Disney to fail for "betraying" them. If the company had never done anything to upset them, they'd probably be indistinguishable from the other people posted in this thread.
Interesting that Dev lost his media access. He's been one of the vloggers being negative and critical of the parks.
Complaining about a server's attitude is peak Disney Adult, though. CM's are miserable because entitled retail customers have nothing on entitled Disney visitors. In their eyes everyone who works there has to serve their every whim because it's their job to make the Disney visit ~magical~.

A good portion of them view it as their great cultural conquest. Them going is their victory lap. Especially the gay men who hang out at Disney.
There are strains. Many are like you mention. Many are not alone and not childless however.
The retiree strain for example will have children and go on about how their Disney Vacation Club timeshare contracts are totally great assets to give to their children when they die.
You have the middle aged married gay men who are now too unattractive and fat to go to fuck fests who like to make sure everyone can see that they are gay and proud and make sure to kiss in front of children. They are basically there to take cultural victory laps.
You have the young female insta girls who have young male orbiters who fake it until they make it to actual disney adults.
You have the wine aunt / wine mom crowd who proudly brag about how fucked up they get from "drinking around the world" at epcot while wearing "drinkerbelle" shirts.
You have the visibly stressed beaten down disney dads trying to buy their families love by overpaying for a vacation every year. You can identify them in the wild with the wdw bumper stickers.

Don't their employees actually get in trouble with managers for not smiling while at work? I had a relative of mine who worked there once tell me that don't go into work if you're having a bad day. If I worked at Disney, I would start to twitch after a while.

fyi the theme parks were always designed with everyone in mind, not just kids and not just families either, in photos from the 50s you can see adults without kids.
When asked in an interview one of the original imagineers said "we'd like to give the experiences you always wanted to do like drive a race car" ie interesting experiences for everyone, kids and adults.
There's fancy restaurants at some of the hotels which are also fancy.
Animal Kingdom offers you the experience to feel like you're really visiting real world Asia and Africa.
There's nothing wrong with an adult going to one of the Disney parks without a kid along, it's just being ruined by people doing it for social media clout or buying unreasonable amounts of merchandise or swallowing Woke garbage or paying unreasonable prices.
Obviously the ideal time is to go when you're a kid and one of the biggest reasons to go back is nostalgia, but there's still things that should at least in theory be interesting to an adult.
Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater here, Disney has done some impressive things in it's history, which makes it all the more sadder to see it being ruined by dipshits.

Not that unusual, when I was a kid and got Disney Channel when it came alongside basic cable in 1997 I saw The Last Starfighter, Tron and Something Wicked This Way Comes on there, so there was some more intense stuff than squeaky clean pre school affair, but I do remember it being late at night.

There's even a homemade video game from the 90s or early 2000s that's a DOOM clone where you mow down costumed security guards in a Disney World that's taken over all of Florida and become it's own actual nation.
One can Google this, I don't know if it's even still available online or what exactly it was called, but that's something I remember seeing.
A derangement syndrome is right, like I said it's incredibly ironic that far left Marxists now love Disney, though what they REALLY love is the 90s and modern stuff, they even retired Jessica Rabbit for being too sexy, 1988 is too old for them.
I think part of the reason why is not just a generation of leftists simply grew up watching them but remember the accusations of subliminal perverted stuff, so making Disney actually subversive and demented feels like a big middle finger to conservatives.
It's possibly where I saw Back To The Future for the first time (though that could have been TBS) and almost assuredly where I first saw Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I can understand and somewhat empathize with a fixation on immersive escapism, but to fixate on such a lame set of IPs... that I can't wrap my mind around. And I can't imagine the Disney theme park experience is immersive enough to satisfy modern people whose expectations have been refined to such a high level by all the special effects of modern films and vidya. Maybe in the 1960s, but certainly not now.
