I've taken a wack at the description. Can anyone help me flesh it out or rewrite it? I'm not quite happy with it.Well done!
Now, if you make some explanation for the thread's existence and a description of the community for anyone unfamiliar with it (an odd concept, I know), you'd be on your way.
This comment inspired me to include a bit in aforementioned description in the OP.I personally think Disney adults are cuteI would love to have a gf who squeals in delight when I give her a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt for her birthday.
This hit harder than you probably intended it to.The bread tastes like shit, and the circuses are too boring or infuriating to watch.
This is in the right direction and I would add further that these whales and manchildren are suffering from an acute case of Peter Pan syndrome who think money can buy them happiness.I've taken a wack at the description. Can anyone help me flesh it out or rewrite it? I'm not quite happy with it.
Here's what I have at the moment:
A Disney Adult is much like Justice Potter Stewart's famous quote about porn, you know it when you see it.A Disney Adult is not just someone who might enjoy the company's IP, or who has fond memories of films or trips to the parks, nor are they even a family who indulges occasionally as a tradition with their children. Instead, the Disney Adult goes further beyond. These individuals define themselves by what they consume, and have made their consumption of Disney products and parks part of their core identity. You could even argue that these hyper-consumerist individuals are the ones for shitting up the parks and merch for everyone else, as their constant arms-race against Disney is what has led to things like the creation of the Genie system and their constant drive to consoom enables the creation of low-quality products that are guaranteed to sell.

oh it's that chick from the Haunted Mansion, coolThe Maelstrom becoming a Frozen ride brought a LOT of the martyrs out. I enjoyed it way to much when the ride screws up as it often does and Elsa has no face when you get to the top of the lift hill.

What makes it more fun is right when you get here you drop about 3 feet and go backwards so its like a lovely jump scare for the kiddos.
I’ll admit I’m a bit of a Muppet sperg myself so I have a bit of a soft spot for him. However I will never, EVER visit Sesame Place on my own. I would make sure to have at least one kid with me.His friend Muppet Stuff

The few times I remember watching the Disney Channel at a friend's house (our cable system didn't have it) was during the 90s, before they went all in on the tween sitcoms and stuff and seemed to be genuinely confused about what to do with their channel. It all seemed very safe and wienery, like Nickelodeon with all the hip 90s edge ditched. I'm not against family friendly entertainment, far from it, but this seemed completely neutered- which is funny when you think that so many of Disney's animated films veer into some territory that's darker and scarier for younger children. This thread has potential. Disney adults are some of the goddamn worst people.
I’ve got a former friend who is a Disney obsessed adult to the point where it controls her life 24/7. Like “working 70+ hours a week for 48 weeks out of the year to spend a month at a Disney resort” levels of control.
It’s terrifying.
The ones that defend the company and it’s history with pedos are the worst. Sorry, but it’s not normal to hire a dude who is in jail for child to write and direct your next live action children’s project, regardless of what decade it was.
Little girls still like their classic princess stuff. Disney is kind of lame nowadays though, if i were a kid i'd much prefer the universal parks, as well as anime and videogames who kids today like much more than western animation. The marketing for adults must be filling in those gaps where they are loosing ground.I wonder if there are statistics you can find that back up the idea that a good chunk of Disney's audience and park attendees are childless, single, and are 35+ years old.
The irony of the left loving Disney is 20/30 years ago the left fucking DESPISED Disney, they saw it as the personification of everything wrong with America, no urban leftist would have been caught dead being a Disney fan 20 years ago.
There was a brief window of time around 2004 where it was incredibly uncool to like Disney among the wider culture as a whole, things started to change by the end of the decade and it was hip to like them again, but today criticizing Disney is seen as coming from a right wing angle.
It would have made commies of the 90s and 00s puke to see a commie Disney fan.
They're just as cow-worthy as Disney Adults, IMO. They come off as wanting Disney to fail for "betraying" them. If the company had never done anything to upset them, they'd probably be indistinguishable from the other people posted in this thread.Don't know if Clownfish TV has been talked about here yet, but they do have a thread on Kiwi Farms already. (Maybe it can be merged with this one because it's kind of slow.)
Anyway, they're kind of like the anti-disney adults. They used to have a blog about Disney parks but their youtube channel gained success by becoming part of The Fandom Menace/Disney hate bandwagon that became a thing around the time The Last Jedi came out.
So instead of loving Disney they just kind of hate-sperg about anything Disney related, which kind of defines The Fandom Menace in a nutshell.

Interesting that Dev lost his media access. He's been one of the vloggers being negative and critical of the parks.Devin Christopher Bockhouse, aka PCDev. another American Youtuber who started vlogging his trips to Disney and Universal about 6 years ago and now makes a living off pretty much videoing anything Disney do or host at their Orlando resort.
Now I wouldn't exactly class him as "a Disney Adult" (even though a vast majority of his videos are Disney based) but he wouldn't be worth mentioning without highlighting his run in with the law and complaining about menu service even in the middle of the pandemic.
Dev was arrested and charged back in 2021 for battery after assaulting a resident at his apartment block, Arrest document here (Archive) and subsequent court hearing (Archive). Again I recall seeing something on Tattle Life (ew) that he has lost his media access to the parks and subsequent privileges that came with it. I'll dig further when I get some spare time.

A good portion of them view it as their great cultural conquest. Them going is their victory lap. Especially the gay men who hang out at Disney. The irony of the left loving Disney is 20/30 years ago the left fucking DESPISED Disney, they saw it as the personification of everything wrong with America, no urban leftist would have been caught dead being a Disney fan 20 years ago.

There are strains. Many are like you mention. Many are not alone and not childless however. This is in the right direction and I would add further that these whales and manchildren are suffering from an acute case of Peter Pan syndrome who think money can buy them happiness.

If there are, DEFINITELY include them in the OP.
Don't their employees actually get in trouble with managers for not smiling while at work? I had a relative of mine who worked there once tell me that don't go into work if you're having a bad day. If I worked at Disney, I would start to twitch after a while.Another thing I wanted to bring up about my time in Disneyland was how all the employees who worked there looked fucking miserable. I did not see one employee smile while on the job. I've seen people working at Walmart and McDonalds who looked more happy and smiled more than your average Disneyland employee.
I recall once around the early 90s Disney Channel ran Smithee Dune at like, one in the morningDisney Channel fans were losers.
Not that unusual, when I was a kid and got Disney Channel when it came alongside basic cable in 1997 I saw The Last Starfighter, Tron and Something Wicked This Way Comes on there, so there was some more intense stuff than squeaky clean pre school affair, but I do remember it being late at night.I recall once around the early 90s Disney Channel ran Smithee Dune at like, one in the morning
yeah they used to run a bunch of family-ish nerd shit, like there's an aircheck of them from the late 80s with TONIGHT ON THE DISNEY CHANNEL, STAR WARS AND FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATORNot that unusual, when I was a kid and got Disney Channel when it came alongside basic cable in 1997 I saw The Last Starfighter, Tron and Something Wicked This Way Comes on there, so there was some more intense stuff than squeaky clean pre school affair, but I do remember it being late at night.
There's even a homemade video game from the 90s or early 2000s that's a DOOM clone where you mow down costumed security guards in a Disney World that's taken over all of Florida and become it's own actual nation.Little girls still like their classic princess stuff. Despised would be putting it lightly. The marxist left had a veritable Disney derangement syndrome. There's a lot of classic commie literarture that is just unhinged reeeeeing against Disney and superheroes. This one is a classic from the Allende era. Tbf, thats still the common position of most commies outside America, the USA leftists are mostly just neoliberals who virtue signal

It's possibly where I saw Back To The Future for the first time (though that could have been TBS) and almost assuredly where I first saw Who Framed Roger Rabbit.yeah they used to run a bunch of family-ish nerd shit, like there's an aircheck of them from the late 80s with TONIGHT ON THE DISNEY CHANNEL, STAR WARS AND FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR
