Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA) - Nerds protecting nonces

Why are the people who write scifi so fucked in the head? Ponder what while I spell out my laser-focused sexual fantasy to try to get you to read scifi
If you're only able to sell a genre on what perversions one is able to get away with then you're part of the problem lmao.
What's more pathetic? a games journalist or a scifi journalist
Yes.
Mike Glyer AKA China Mike built file 770 as a sci-fi/fantasy fan magazine for years. He used its alleged popularity as a bully pulpit to push around authors with wrongthink. After getting called out in about this he accidentally revealed that 70 percent of his page views come from Chinese bot farms.
So what you're saying is that the generic scifi reader is indistinguishable from a soulless machine, and yeah that matches up with my observations. I can't add anything that hasn't already been covered by the victims listed in the op, but by God does this reinforce the notion that bullyciding needs to make a serious comeback in the western world. A lot of those smol uwu baybees that got bullied in school for being autistic freaks are going to molest children whenever they get the chance because there's an entire community of pedophiles giving them cover and legal support--Christ, the SFWA is just the ADL for poindexters isn't it?

I am just saying I am find with people writing what they want. (Pedophilic and beastiality shit deserves not to be publish and the authors tarred, feathered and beaten) And if it's retarded and full of perverted shit, we get to laugh and make fun of them over the internet.

I heard something like that: that "transgender" is "social engineering" with the aim of grifting people into accepting "transhumanism" that's really about turning "little people" into cybernetic serfs with brain-computer interfaces. SF in general could be used to condition people to be more accepting of such a "New World Order" by tyranny.

But yeah, nothing inherently wrong with "speculative fiction" (especially when the world is dystopia), though escapism can attract freaks - not just mere non-conformists.
And plenty of those stories were meant to be cautionary tales, not instruction manuals. Talk about missing the point.

I couldn't imagine how disappointed I'd be if I were an actual fan of Arthur C. Clark only to learn today he was a pedo-tourist.
I'm a big fan of his work lmao. The way he writes about space and everything to do about traveling in it and the techologies involved to make it work is amazing. His characters could be kind of cold - think the main cast of TNG, but worse since those people had a lot more personality to them. Anyway, I wanted to add that I knew he was gay and that's fine, who cares. But when I read about that on his wiki page back when I was getting into his work, I presumed he just had a lover in Sri Lanka who he'd been with for a long time and they were quietly happy together. It mentions the, uh, "allegations" concering the boys, but there's only two lines devoted to that:

I'm actually surprised how little is talked about his views on sexuality ("14 is aw-right"), but I figure he's been dead long enough now and he was too important to the genre to get a large exposee, unless of course someone bothered to go full ham interviewing those Sri Lankan now-men. Even so, I don't see it doing much.

Clarke always claimed, perhaps tongue in cheek, that he moved to Sri Lanka because he believed that was the likeliest place aliens would land on Earth owing to its altitude and proximity to the Equator. Longstanding rumor suggests that the real reason he moved there was that he had an agreement with the government not to extradite him should his pursuit of young brown boys come to light. There was a lot of smoke around this back in the late 90s but so far as I know there's no firm evidence one way or the other.

He buried himself together with a man 30 years younger than Clarke.
Pretty gay.

Allegedly there's audio recording of his confession.

I've read some of these authors for years, but had no clue about the stuff in the OP before idly clicking on this thread. Thank you Meat Target for doing the legwork and crafting a great first post.

Sci-fi has always been full of weird sex. Teen me was weirded out by Frank Herbert's excessive sex scenes in Chapterhouse: Dune. Now I see he was tame compared to his peers. At least he wasn't a nonce and wrote the Baron as a villain.

Yeah, Sci-fi has alot of smut. I've read alot of sci-fi and the shit ive seen has been disgusting. If you ever see a book titles "Spirit of Flux and Anchor" don't pick it up.

This guy is something worth investigating. His books are so packed fucking full of transformation fetish smut that It would make any furry blush in shame. He was a three time Treasurer for SFWA, so probably definitely affiliated with some of the sickos which ran it. He died in 2005, but reading his literature will definitely tell you he was fucked in the head.

Stuff on Clarke.

"I grew up in Sri Lanka. My dad was doing some work for the Canadian government. There were a lot of expat kids in my area and we had free reign of the neighbourhood. Our parents mostly let us do what we wanted, but we were told to stay away—never go near—a large property that bordered my house. When we asked why the reasons were always vague.

There were some rumors that someone very famous or maybe powerful lived there. We all got the sense that he was ...a danger in some way. One day I was home sick from school. My grandfather was visiting from Canada and he was assigned to watch me. I remember that I was in pajamas. We were in the backyard and my grandfather was painting peacocks. Out of our hedges this man appeared and approached us. I instantly knew it was the man from the property.

The man from the property wanted something from my dad, who of course wasn't home. My grandfather was star struck by the man. Grandpa could barely speak. The two began chatting. The man flattered my grandfather's painting. He said he also liked to paint but only people. The man looked towards me and said let's paint the boy.

I was placed on a stool in front of the two men. I was eleven years old. Very quickly the neighbour said the clothes were spoiling the beauty of me. He asked me to remove my clothes. I looked at my grandpa and did as I was told. Soon after I was on the stool, naked, and crying. I don't know how long this went on but at some point my father arrived home. He quickly reviewed the scene, saw the man from the property, and...went ..nuts. He just lost it on them: raising his voice. Getting in people's faces. I honestly thought he might kill them both.

Within a couple of hours my grandfather was gone and they never - ever - spoke again. Although in some circles it was common knowledge, the man from the property was a famous British science fiction novelist. Apparently he had been banished to (then) Ceylon from postwar Britain rather than face prison for being a pederast. I think about that day sometimes. My father didn't have a temper and rarely ever even raised his voice but the man he became in that moment while essentially unrecognizable. While we've had our ups and downs from that moment forward I never questioned his love for me again. Ever. I knew he'd kill for me. I learned how important it is to protect your family and those more vulnerable than you."

He definitely has the pederast look down pat.

The fact that the poor bloke's grandad went along with it is equal parts revolting and horrifying. Thank god the kid had a great dad to protect him because I reckon grandpa would've let his fav author fuck his grandkid if asked.

her interview with Obscura, Moira Greyland said that sci-fi and fantasy is all rooted in "weird sex"

This was my exact thought as I read through. The early scifi fantasy authors were all fucking weirdos. L. Ron Hubbard wrote science fiction and had weird sex things with Allister Crowley. Off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure Lovecraft was at least a racist but also a recluse. Maybe they aren't all pedophiles but they definitely do weird sex shit.
Lovecraft wasn’t as reclusive as people make him out to be. Au contraire, after his overbearing mother passed away, he seemed to come out of his shell and he acquired quite a large circle of fellow writer friends. He travelled all around the United States to visit them. He was even known by the parents of said friends to be charming and outgoing.

This is the story that clinched it for me. It's specific enough to have the ring of truth, yet doesn't end on any sort of overt theatrics that someone might add if they were making it up. And what other famous British scifi novelists could there be in Sri Lanka?

Lovecraft's views on race also changed once he became more outgoing.

He was a chan poster in the flesh before the telephone was a thing.

Getting back to the main convo, I think a reason science fiction stories contained a lot of smut and taboo content was because the genre starting blossoming during the 1960’s. Harlan Ellison procured and published a famous compendium of envelope-pushing science fiction short stories in 1967 called Dangerous Visions that was regarded as an instant classic. You also had the science fiction authors like J.G Ballard (highly underrated author of sci-fi) and Thomas A. Dirsch that were basically examining the evolution, degeneracy and the gradual empty corporatization of Western culture and wrote their observations under the umbrella of New-Wave sci-fi, which also got its start in the 60’s.

Also a simpler explanation would be that sci-fi attracts a lot of nerds, and nerds are more likely going to be sheltered and staying at home with their noses in books, so their brains start running more wild. Nerds tend to vibe with people who are also going to fly under the radar, which can include sexual deviants like pedophiles.

NAMBLA is probably the dirtiest little secret the lgbtPs continually sweep under the rug and downplay. The early fag rights movement in the US was unabashedly synonymous with pedophilia and only slowly distanced itself from the likes of NAMBLA because they were bad for PR. Outside of the sci-fi bubble, Allen Ginsberg is probably a more famous example of a writer who continued supporting them long after the other fags stopped.

My father told me a story once of being in an Irish Pub in New York and a couple of burly men coming around asking for donations for "the boys fighting the good fight back home" - They meant the IRA. He gave them a twenty to get them to go away, and I always thought it was a kinda funny story, of paying off some fuckheads for peace. Sometime, much later, I was in a bar in SF's Castro with a very poorly chosen friend and some Bears came by collecting for NAMBLA. I thought it was a joke and laughed along with them. It was very quickly made clear to me that it was not a joke and I was going to be at the very least beaten up, if not worse, if I didn't have a suitable donation. I handed over a twenty (something I still regret to this day, Never bend the knee), and tried to laugh off the whole incident with my "friend", who pointed out it should have been obvious what kind of bar it was from the pictures of Harvey Milk and his underage boyfriends in states of undress behind the bar.

NAMBA is the one and only true LGBT movement. Most of those shilling for "gay rights" know it, but also hope their kids will be spared through appeasement.
