Let's make one thing perfectly clear: gender, whilst distinct from sex is still NOT A CHOICE. That is to say, one cannot choose to be a woman by gender one day, and then a man by gender another. You're either the same gender as your sex (like nearly every single person in the world) or you suffer genuine dysphoria and identify as the other (absolutely extremely rare cases.) Of course, people with legitimate dysphoria would never want to keep their genitals because they feel completely disconnected from their sex.

She transitioned sometime during that nebulous period where John Flynt was just a nobody who flunked out of college. While I don't follow her drama too closely, IIRC the revelation she's not a TRUE and HONEST woman was a pretty sudden realization. Because again, she actually does pass quite well all things considered and she never made transness part of her identity.
