He makes reconstruction “dolls houses”
They can't even come up with anything original, there was a long-running storyline in one of the CSI shows where the serial killer would make dollhouse representations of his crime scenes to taunt the investigators.

What bothers me with these YouTube creators with no forensic/law enforcement background is they literally salivate as they watch the sheckles fly in while they “report” on the murders of children. I just took a peek at that Gray Hughes channel and he’s made 100’s of videos on the Delphi case, even though nothing new came out until late 2021 and that was because the murder sheet got hold of the FBI’s probable cause affidavit for the arrest of Kegan Kline. Not only does he make bank off the girls, he admonishes and sulks his chat if they don’t donate. Seriously it’s fucked up

Yeah only these 'doll houses' are poorly reconstructed digital locations he put together using the 1997 edition of 3D Studio Max along with Poser. He's so proud of them that he's claimed that law enforcement has gotten inspiration from him, and he's just waiting for the official offer to freelance his 'technological' prowess out to a police department with a desperate to solve crime. Oh did I mention he does really boring characters during his shows with voice changers and actually tries his hand at freestyle rapping? The poor victims of the cases he covers. He's pulling in major cheese by presenting each case like it's a poorly written episode of Hee Haw.

Just binged the thread, excellent content so far.

I noticed Spaulding Decon in the OP, boy howdy, I haven’t thought about them in a while. I remember first stumbling upon that rabbit hole a few years back. I’m not really sure why they came up in my recommendations, but (minor PL) I am good friends with a former funeral director, and I was almost hired as a mortuary apprentice in my gap year at uni, so I have a passing interest in this morbidity. I remember feeling that, while the actual clean-up was professionally done, the videos were exceptionally exploitative. For example, you had them constantly pointing out and holding up scalps and skin slippage like trophies, playing with maggots (getting them to race each other), riffling through the deceased person’s belongings…The latter of which got them in hot water recently, as their cleaners where showing off a dead person’s sex toy collection to the camera for giggles. They issued an apology statement, but having watched their channel off and on for years, I can attest that it wasn’t the first time. It always struck me as particularly disturbing with the suicides and/or unattended deaths of the elderly. There was something uniquely sad about someone dying old and alone, or by your own hand in bed holding a childhood teddy, only to melt into the floor, because you had no one but a landlord to check in on you. Then these goofs show up to film it all for YouTube clout.

The only good I saw was the suicidal people in the comments section saying that it was discouraging to them.
I find these videos incredibly distasteful, the financial motivation behind posting them is infuriating. Around here, those videos would be reason for immediate dismissal from work, with an entry in your record so that you won't be able to ever work in that field again.

Since that god awful podcast Morbid was mentioned, I should tell you about the awful episode they did on Kendrick Johnson “case.”

Case is in quotes because there is no case as it has been ruled an accident by 3-4 different agencies/groups including the NAACP.

Kendrick Johnson was a black teenager at a high school where they weren’t allowed to use lockers because of vandalism. He put his gym shoes in a rolled up gym mat for storage as a lot of kids did in that school. Unfortunately he decided to reach through the gym mat to grab them instead of picking it up. He suffocated to death.
There was video of two white teenagers leaving the gym shortly after they believe the accident happened. These kids were harassed and called white supremacist murderers. One of the kid’s father worked for the FBI so the family and public were insistent that the Father colluded with local police to cover up the crime.

The family won’t accept the fact it was an accident and keeps trying to sue everyone to make them investigate it AGAIN. Probably due to predatory lawyers trying to get pay days out of them and the media. Benjiman Crump was involved with the family at one point so that should tell you how they tried to play racial tensions up for it.

Morbid’s episode played into all these rumors and speculation ignoring all the evidence and blamed white supremacy for it.
I hate morbid more than a reasonable person should. All the normal reasons, plus they used to do this god awful “mini morbid” song and I’ve never heard anything worse in my life.

There is an active missing person case in the UK right now that is like catnip for the TikTok detectives, to the point where police had to issue a dispersal order to get them to fuck off, and local residents have hired private security. They've been trampling all over potential evidence, trespassing, using their psychic powers, breaking into an abandoned house and generally harassing people and causing upset.

Not gonna go on TikTok myself because I'm lazy not 12 but I guess a search for Nicola Bulley would find plenty of cretinous stuff.

Imagine finding a disheveled 19-year old dangerhair in your backyard blathering to her phone about how she's going to find yoir missing neighbour using astral projection and runic magic. At least one half expects journalists to do this sort of thing: I remember them making a huge circus out of two similar cases in Italy over a decade ago, and even though it was annoying and exploitative, it never got to this utter abyss of stupidity with people trampling evidence or trying to use morgul sorcery.
It just goes on to prove my point that none of these people actually takes these things seriously and they simply want to win clout on the internet.

I don't know what would be worse - having internet nutjobs pulling this shit or having internet cunts ranting about "missing white girl syndrome". I saw that phrase thrown around so much when Gabbi Petito went missing and it makes me sick. Imagine being told over and over that the only reason anyone cares about your missing child is because she's white and nothing else about her matters.

I knew it was a white woman before I even clicked. People get so excited for missing white women, Drew Curtis of Fark.com dedicated an entire section of his book to it.

Jesus fuck, please don't let this turn into a "missing white girl syndrome" thing. I genuinely despise that term.

Well obviously the missing person is white. This is rural Lancashire we're talking about. It's not exactly a cultural melting pot.
I'm not 100% certain, but I'd venture to guess the UK has a decently sized white population and most folks who go missing there are white.

There are parts of “missing white girl syndrome” that are true—women of color tend to go underreported in the media when missing. Blaming white victims for this and not the media is incredibly shitty though.
The people who yell "missing white girl syndrome" while doing nothing to raise awareness for missing persons who aren't white girls are hypocrites. They're only rubbing salt in the wounds of the missing person's loved ones. That energy would be better spent on bringing attention to other missing persons.

I agree—luckily the better true crime channels have. I know the Dreading will bring up lesser known cases regardless of race so that more attention is given to them.

I suspect now we will get more TikTok'ers saying someone planted the body there today, as it was too shallow to drown in......
Oh Jesus Christ I hate cases like this so much. People don't understand drowning at all and they always need to turn it into 'muh murder'.

I live in a country with a lot of water and a lot of canals. Young men drown here, regularly. Foreign young men drown here, regularly. It's fucking sad but it's not nefarious, it's just young men taking risks or a pee (often while intoxicated) alone, at night. But every fucking time the idiots come out of the woodwork to suggest something murder happened. Super great when it's a foreign victim and everyone immediately suggests it must be a raycism thing. Even worse when the family buys into it in their grief.

You can drown in the kitchen sink. The only thing I'd say you can't drown in is measuring cup of water. If it's deep enough to submerge your nose and/or mouth, you can drown in it. If you're blackout drunk or incapacitated and land facedown in a body of water, you will drown. It's not hard to comprehend.
