Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

Glad I found this thread. Atrocity Guide is awesome and I’ve been binging her content.

There was one Nexpo video that I kind of liked, but it turned into shit because it dragged on. He dove into that old Worlds game from the 90s. I love obscure old Internet stuff like that. Does anyone have any recommendations for creators that cover weird old Internet stuff?
Around the time Vinesauce did a Worlds stream he also did a Digital Traveler stream which I cannot find anywhere anymore. I’ve hoped for years someone kept the full stream but alas.

I do wonder why no one has done a spooky video about the service. Sure it’s obscure but I’m pretty sure you can find ways to access it. Hell I even saw a documentary years ago on YouTube about it.

I'm sure someone else saw this but I got recommended this video

Heard him mention it's hosted on the channel "linkara-atopthefourthwall" and wondered if that was some fanboy of his. Nope. It's actually made in part by Linkara.

Acting is as cheesy as you'd expect for media made by a former that guy with the glasses member, haven't bothered to watch long enough to see if the lightbringer himself appears.

I highly recommend Pseudiom.
The subject matter of his videos varies - from folklore oddities to Internet weirdness to downright bizarre obscurities. His videos are not for everyone, but it's definitely worth a view!
I've said it before but Pseudiom is my nigga.
I even helped him with research in one video.

Because where else are you gonna get info on the mysterious artist who created the Blue Oyster Cult symbol and early covers, then go into the story of Broly, then into the earliest examples of "rockstar" fame long before rockstars existed, into the Naruto blood cult, into the Dead Internet theory, into how ANOTHER Winston Churchill could have been the US president at the same time as the English one was the UK Prime Minister, into ESTO ES EL FIN, EL PADRE GRANDE, into a lost Steely Dan album, into... you get the point.

You say he's not for everyone, and I agree.
I also say he deserves a VASTLY larger audience.

Always enjoy seeing vinesause pop up.

I watched this a while ago, he does show up later. It's standard fare analog horror elevated by using actual shot footage here-and-there and the text-to-speech is limited to a few lines.

There's a short documentary series covering quite a few of these obscure virtual online chat worlds. That might actually be where you first heard about it. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: Preserving worlds.

You can watch most of it for free here but off the descriptions alone I don't see a part dedicated to Digital Traveler. I think it might be mentioned in a lineup of honorable mentions or something but not really covered in depth as it was probably offline by the time this was even considered as a project. The whole point of it is to promote the preservation of these places online so a unique one that is now gone helps prove that point I suppose.

Dreading's videos are really hit or miss. One day he can post something like a sidekilling(no pun intended) story of Derek Medina or absolutely great hit piece on Jared Fogel and then he uploads some utter shite, like his video on Larson, where out of 2 hour runtime he spends 1,5 hours reading his presidential campaign, when he could just give a brief rundown or quote the most questionable parts. Not to mention, that Larson's online footprint had way worse things than this.

Also, this guy's channel is getting traction. His first videos are usual Iceberg crap, but he is getting more views on the other stuff, so maybe he will change direction.

I'm months late to whinging about this at this point but I dont get why people (Specifically Wendigoon and some other scarytuber I cant remember) would talk up the Mandela Catalog going starting to have live action like its a big leap forward when its done pretty poorly and is jarring compared to what came before it.

I'm sure it could be done (Gemini Home Entertainment does it ok albeit sparingly), but every time I see the Thatcher actor whose supposed to have been a police officer or a really badly drawn cartoon environment overlaid on someone I'm reminded its an amateur production in a way that the original videos, hell even volume 2 with the tryhard voice actors, didnt have.

Probably because 14 year olds who don’t know any better think Mandela is scary and want to see their new favorite youtuber talk about it. If it helps Wendigoon put out content I care about then go for it I guess.

Wendigoon likes to hype things up too much. The first live action segments of the Backrooms were basically stone faced guys looking at monitors and he called Kane an excellent live action director for it. GHE live action segments are usually silent POV shots, that probably helps a lot.

I just cannot take anything linkara says or does seriously.

i have a fresh new idea for an analog horror video
what if i edited together a bunch of portraits from thispersondoesnotexist.com with the eyes blacked out and some SVGs of stickfigures i took from google while narrating it with a text-to-speech voice
This sounds like 15 year old went to summer art school the movie. Sounds perfect and will 10/10 at the 420 awards, go fucking do it nigger.

I love it.
You're mocking the genre while (probably) racking up views from dummies who think it's actually edgy and creepy.

Well done.

Nah, it's basically Mandella Catalogue. What you should really do is this:
  • Go to Most Physically Repulsive Tranny thread.
  • Get the worst of the worst.
  • Edit them with another layer of filters and effects.
  • Find TTS with really deep male voice
  • Make the lines, like "I'll take your uterus" or "I will be better version of you"
  • Edit sound files with pitch shifter to make them sound higher, but not too much
  • Put some stock dark ambient over it
  • ???
  • The horror... The horror...
You are welcome. Don't forget to credit this place when this becomes the next big thing.

Glad I checked first to see this was shared.
I know the murderer isn’t a victim but I do wonder about the ethics of this woman taking all this money. Did she know he was mentally ill? Was it unethical she kept taking his money if she knew?
Being a cam girl doesn’t have an ethics review board.
