I wasn't suggesting people harass her. My remark was akin to what happened to Alison Rapp..
The first line heavily suggests that you wanted to go all *wink wink nudge nudge* on it at least without explicitly saying it. At least that's how it appears to me. As far as "dox" goes, I don't understand it when OMG DOX becomes more important than content that's actually worth laughing at. In this case unless people go out of their way to suggest that Alex's mother/sister be contacted(don't), I don't think there's a huge risk that they're going to be harassed by our members. The cow isn't "sensational" enough to warrant a

Still, it's always worthwhile to weigh whether something is actually being achieved by the dox or not. Is the Lolcow making a lot of noise from simply having a relative's name been known to us or are the "doxers" jumping up and down going "omg, haha, we doxed your children, aren't you going to react!" without the Lolcow responding ? In the former case it's funny and content about the lolcow, in the latter case it's just juvenile imo.
It's a very case by case basis. In the case of just a facebook account and real name, the "doxing" is pretty minimal. It's different when phone numbers / street addresses of unrelated/only tangentially related people are put up without any other discernible end goal than to get people to

If you do believe that a case of tangential people's dox is not only not serving the purpose of the thread but has a high chance of putting a person unconnected or only very tangentially connected person, it's best to report it so staff can individually review whether the information is serving the thread and/or whether it's inviting harassment. Because individual Staff members may have different views regarding the subject, if the conclusion of the report is unsatisfactory, you can make a Talk to Staff thread if you want a wider sampling of staff to weigh on the issue, utilize the Thread Watch thread or PM an individual staff member who you think would have the best expertise regarding the subject. Debating the doxing ethics in the threads themselves is largely going to produce a whole lot of clutter.
