Patrick Sean Tomlinson / @stealthygeek / "Torque Wheeler" / @RealAutomanic / Kempesh / Padawan v2.5 - "Conservative" sci-fi author with TDS, armed "drunk with anger management issues" and terminated parental rights, actual tough guy, obese, paid Quasi, paid thousands to be repeatedly unbanned from Twitter

You're almost certainly right that he doesn't hit her. I'd expect slightly different behavior if he did. I'm not sure, of course, but it'd make sense.

I also agree that it'd take away his power if he gave in to his violent impulses. She has parents who care about her. If I were her father and she came to me with bruises, I'd beat him like a drum. Anyone would. And he's not been beaten enough to cope with his fear of it.

Thanks for explaining your position. It makes sense to me.

But perhaps you didn't notice how fat he is?
Yeah but on the off chance they sleep in the same bed, if he turns over in his sleep she's history. Flattened like an old cartoon and someone dropped an anvil.

I think he would if the person couldn't fight back or pose a threat. That's the kind of "tough guy" Fatrick is.

He is supposed to have run away from PCJ and the pest who went to hooligans for a laugh.

Even the yellowest Lily livered ponce would feel like he could confront a stranger in the bar which he spends most of his time and all of his money, as they usually have a “friend” or two there and feel like they have the backup.

The fact that Fatrick got the police involved when no one was remotely hurt and it was just an ill advised but ultimately harmless prank speaks volumes.

He certainly has at least one gun, which he could easily use to threaten her with things such as killing her and then himself.
I can imagine him being exactly the kind of soft piece of shit who would commit a murder-suicide if he became desperate enough. Just the threats he made against the mother of his child (and the child) shows what a weak, evil person he is.

He's too much of a narcissist to kill himself. He would consider that Letting the Idiots Win.

Ive noticed patrick tweeting at 6AM two days in a row, Usually he's up by 9 posting his gay fucking worldle. Wonder why he cant sleep, wonder why he's stressing out. Could he be he's realizing he's going to have to pay quasi 40 grand? Who knows he "works" from home so there's zero need for him to wake up that early.
Massive sleep apnea. You probably haven't noticed but he's super fat and bad at all things probably including breathing.

Forgive me if this is old news, but I dont remember ever reading anything from this old Pat account. Courtesy of our friend Brotherman BudDickman, I bring you Pat's Imgur 2015 account, where he posted his AWFUL stand-up jokes and surprise surprise: he doesn't exactly takes criticism very well. Huh, who could've have guessed?

If you ever feel bad for the Piggy, let this be a reminder: he was always a prideful fat condescending asshole, waaaay before the Brothermen came along.

First, just a taste of his lovely comment page:

Nothing but pure joy in this man's soul.

Are you ready? Here we go!

1) Ripping Off George Carlin and getting called for it

Patty rips off one of the greats, gets called out. But he has a fantastic justification for such blatant theft: he shook his hand once:

Also, Pat may have been seen was seen giving him a handy afterwards. The events from this day were actually confirmed by Carlin later in life:

Please, don't ask what he was in for. The other inmates may listen and think is kinda weird the "gang that almost got their faces caved in the pavement" consisted of his pregnant wife and unborn daughter. Thank you.

I did a five part review earlier in the thread, going through Starship Repo and analyzing precisely how horrible it is in depth. I will not dredge up those traumatizing memories or open the cover of that book again, out of fear for my mental health, but it is documented in the above links if you really want to know.
Thank you for this review. I’m an idiot and read this pile of trash anyway.

I’m headed to the big casino heist and it’s looking grim boys.

Something I didn’t understand earlier is how Patrick’s writing contract works. I thought it was “hey we like your earlier books, go write more” but from his tweets it seems like Tor is asking for more books but not in his Breach setting. Otherwise why is he talking about how he’d like to revisit a setting. Dude, you’re the author, go write more in your setting.

He makes it seem like Tor has more control over what storylines he writes under contract.

Author/publisher contracts can be an absolute bitch, on par with those high school assignments you might remember. “Write me something with xxx thousands of words and the following criteria and have it to the editor within the next whatever months”.

It’s worth noting that this is much more common if a) you’re trying (and failing) to be a Big Boy instead of self-publishing and b) the demand for your work is so low that you have zero negotiating power.

I would bet not one person read the entire boilerplate contract Patrick signed, including Patrick. Some intern filled in the blanks and fired it off in an email and Pat woke up at 4 PM with a hangover and signed and returned it and the next time he gave it a single thought was when TOR left him a fifth voicemail threatening to send 350 pound “lawyers” with crowbars to his house.

Goddamn, this reminds me that there used to be a time when Imgur users weren't all a bunch of reeing commies. Wild.

He makes it seem like Tor has more control over what storylines he writes under contract.

He was contracted for three books with TOR.
After the second book it was clear his trilogy wasn't selling so he started another.
That was even more trash and has sold <300 copies since its release in oct '20
His contract was not renewed.
Pat was probably asked to switch direction in a bid that the last book on his contract might make them (TOR) back some money.
it hasn't

His current sales for TOR (as of the beginning of this year) is 1753 books since Jun '18.
Very unlikely to increase much seeing as its two likely never to be finished trilogies.
case in point, his 2022 sales figures for his first unfinished trilogy:
Gatecrashers -23
Starship Repo -18
Yes they are minus figures, I would speculate that these are book stores returning unsold stock
Luckily he sold 49 copies of In The Black making his grand total for TOR in 2022; 8 books sold.

If it wasn't for the (untrackable) tens of thousands of books he hand sells at hooligans and sci fi conventions It would be hard to believe he was a 6 figure author.

I appreciate that Imgur's file size limit prevented a full body shot of Patrick from being uploaded.

Narcissists will an hero if they view a situation as completely inescapable and think it's all over. I think Fatty probably won't, but psychos like this do snap from time to time. Most of the ones who do that aren't particularly tough people, but losers like Andrew Blaze or Elliot Rodger. Or our very own Couch Cuck.
First, just a taste of his lovely comment page:
This man has no clue how to deal with hecklers. It has to be done in a fluid way where you use the heckler's own energy against him and the audience is mad their entertainment is being disrupted by a retard. It is not by acting like such a complete retard that everyone agrees the heckler is actually funnier than you are.

Patrick is a useful example of how the book industry has changed over the last couple decades.

Back in the day, self-publishing was the kiss of death. You were only likely to sell a few dozen books, give away a stack to your friends and family and then have several boxes rotting in the garage. If you weren’t from one of the big publishing houses who would hear about you? How would anyone get a copy of your book?

Today you have print on demand services for people who want your book, eBooks for the masses, social media for advertising and outside of modest cuts taken by your storefront of choice (Amazon and Lulu) you get to keep the rest of the money.

You lose out on being part of a lineup of books, cross-promotion with other authors from the same publisher and you certainly don’t get any advances.

So there’s definitely a downside but for a beginner author do you get much from submitting to the big houses vs DIY? Maybe you still get the cold shoulder if you’ve been writing under your own imprint and then approach one of these places. I don’t know, but it seems that you mostly get bragging rights and the possibility of an advance but give up a lot of artistic freedom and income.

Patrick strikes me as wanting those bragging rights above all else. But his numbers look so miserable. 8 books this year for Tor? Wow! What a pro writer!
