Baldur's Gate III Announced - ...and it's coming to Google Stadia and PC

Thread subtitle should probably be updated for PS5 instead of Stadia. Also nice to see EA gets upgraded to digital deluxe on launch. Will they drop the deal before launch?

Since it's playable on PS5, shouldn't that also mean it's playable on Steam Deck?
The blog post on steam explicitly mentions the Deck, so yes. How playable it will become is up in the air as they also increased recommended requirements.

I'm gonna predict based on my experience with Divinity that the first half will be fine and the second half a rushed slog just like their other games. The last half of Divinity Original Sin 2 is legit awful. And the final battle really very stupid.

The woke shit is on par. And wokies gonna woke. They won't question if it's a good game just muh gays are in it. Imagine. An entire fantasy land and only being obsessed if you can smoke poles in it.

This is my biggest fear for it -- that it'll be frontloaded with choices & consequences plus general reactivity that'll continually decrease (along with the overall quality) the further you get into the game, much like DOS2. Divinity II felt like it was worked on by an ever shrinking staff until it was just the janitor, leaving you with a finale of people standing around on a generic ship going "gee, what an adventure that was!" followed by really shitty epilogue slides.

gonna be hard to get into this after playing pathfinder so much.

its EA so no shock there.

What is the point in having "What you dream of" and companion romances both? Shouldn't one make the other redundant?

iirc, the 'what you dream of' character is the form the tadpole takes, trying to get you to succumb to it and give up control that only shows up a few times, not really a fully fleshed out character

Hope that gets a mod that shows it as a chad cthulhu starspawn.

Remember playing a few times ages ago and got cucked pretty quickly going down the "evil" questline

Wouldnt mind them releasing the entire fucking thing at some point

Any thoughts on whether it's worth playing rn or just wait for release?

i'd just wait, the full release is only a few months away (August 31st) and I don't think you can transfer your save from EA to the full game
You can't. But if you buy early access, you will get to play chapter 1 of full game I think 3 days early. You also get upgraded to the digital deluxe version for no extra charge.

Just how pozzed is this game though? I really don't want to support that kind of shit.

Any of you fellas played Baldur's Gate on the switch version? Was thinking about getting the cheapest switch so that I would have something to play when my lights go out, and saw that they made a port of BG of all things. Curious as to if it controls well.

Larian pulled Windows release to August 3rd (if you bought EA, Act 1 is released on the 1st), PS5 release was pushed back to September and Mac is up in the air.

It's $CURRENT_YEAR, unless you were being retortical.

You may find more replies on the Switch thread. It's an old game that could be one-handed with a mouse, I doubt the switch will have trouble playing it. The biggest issue may be the UI, since the screen is very small.

I played it for 50+ hours and only two things come to mind.

1) Them changing the character creator so clicking on 'human' defaults to the ugliest black woman you could possibly make.
2) Your companions being whores.

I wouldn't have noticed 2 until someone pointed it out because I'm so used to every RPG inserting cringe player-sexual characters as romances these days that I don't even clock it anymore.
