How do cats even get these problems? Like, did they not have a scratcher to sharpen their nails? Is it because they're so old? I don't think the Kuwaiti lawyer is wrong.

First, Alaa et al are using the word "sue" incorrectly. You can't sue a court. They're all ESL speakers, so what they're trying to say is that they petitioned the court to make the marriage legal. But as the lawyer pointed out, you can't turn an illegal act into a legal one by going to court.

Chantal and Salah are not legally married. Period. They may have a misyar marriage or urfi marriage, but neither of these are legal in Kuwait. Plus, you can't get married on a tourist visa in Kuwait. Many countries allow this, but not Kuwait.

If Chantal thinks she's married, the gang probably assumes she'll be more inclined to keep funding their scammy perfume business. So IMO they're feeding her a line of bullshit. Salah, Alaa, and Murad are all sketchy AF, and Chantal shouldn't trust any of them.

The scenario you've laid out does not make any sense even within your own theory, but definitely doesn't in real life. Neither of them are good at lying or acting and what benefit do either of them get from this?

I agree but the thing is Chantel lies, and lies, and covers it with a couple more lies. They supposedly were leaving the villa on Monday, on Sunday night they were both still posting online from the villa with absolutely fuck all done ready to move out. Yes they are a pair of idle shits but surely not able to pack ready to go in a few hours.
I would not be surprised if she popped up online to admit things had gone wrong and they were staying in the villa for the time being . She was too quiet about her travel visa for Kuwait this time and was refused an extension twice she applied in Kuwait, which does seem really odd, maybe word had reached immigration control after all .
She is never usually offline so long , she needs the money more than ever now.

I have been wondering why Chantal was in such a hurry to convert before she left Kuwait. She knew she was returning to Kuwait in a month, so it's not like she didn't have time to do it later. It didn't seem like a matter of her faith or pressure from Salah. I thought maybe it was so they could have a "real" Muslim marriage and seal the deal right before she left the country (to ensure his commitment). But then I remembered she still couldn't do that under a tourist visa, unless Kuwait is one of those places where people routinely bribe officials to smooth the way.

I'm still puzzled that she went through the official process. Chantal doesn't go to effort for anything or anyone without direct benefit to herself. She didn't have to do it to marry him. They were already married. (From her perspective.) Any cultural pressure that may exist would mean nothing to her. What would motivate someone who is as lazy and unfocused as she is, who hates authority as much as she does, to get up off the couch, wash her face, go over there, and vow before a religious figure to adhere to a faith she knows very little about, and the parts she does know about, she honors only when convenient?

All I can come up with is it's another brick in the pile she plans to drop on his head if/when he tries to leave her. ("Look at everything I've done for you!" Money, relocating, religion, cats, etc.)

My other thought is she did it to ingratiate herself to his family. But that seems unlikely.
