I'm not gonna speak for @melty but I interpretate that as a general mindset and the folks from those "family first" orgs that are trying to keep dem homos from being happy and having the same privileges as everyone else.
There's also some people on twitter saying how great it is that the victims are perverts for once and not innocent victims. Which smells a bit like the religious right.

I'm not going to get political about this. I just want to say this is a tragedy and that I'm disgusted. Innocent people being harmed by radical ideology is always a tragedy. My prayers go out to the victims and their loved ones. I just don't know what else to say.

There have been plenty of right wing Christian shooters in recent history. But mostly what turned me off was just the hatred I saw toward other religions/LGBT groups. And Christians still have all sorts of backwards bullshit going on like pedophile Catholic priests and mormons, there are still Christian polygamy cults all around, most of the homeschoolers are fucked and don't do anything remotely resembling an education but this is somehow allowed to happen anyway, even in my hometown we had people autistically condemning Halloween and Harry Potter for being devil worshipping fests. Maybe they aren't blowing up things en masse but there are still a ton of backwards ass Christians.
