The thing about religion is that you can't take logic to it.
People can point to anything in their magic book and interpret as they want, and when you disagree or poke holds in the logic they say "Nah-ah, Gawd sayz this, right hurr".
All you can do is practice a moderate or liberal interpretation. Smart people know this and learn how to incorporate their beliefs and human rights together. Or just don't believe.

When people don't- you get extremism.

I just keep wondering how much it takes for a group of people to not constantly forget and actually keep the memory long enough for events not to repeat themselves like this. Yeah... to not to forget, and also not to scream at each other because you have a different view on how to protect people. To come together in that harsh memory and be able to deal with it in the future.

I guess for a tl;dr, I just don't like that we will forget this, and continue on with the bipartisan/dichotomous arguments/politics (Democrat vs. Republican, Gun Controllers Vs. Non-Gun Controllers, Islam vs Anti-Islam)-- a repeating feedback loop that goes on, and, and on. As W.B. Fucking Yeats said. "turning and turning in the widening gyre..."

I wonder how long we will turn before the cycle is broken.

I remember thinking the same thing after the San Bernardino shooting. I'm not an OBUMMER hater or anything, but what I absolutely can't stand about him is his spinelessness and need to please. I understand that it's important not to jump to conclusions so early into the investigation, but Obama actually refuses to use the phrase "Islamic terrorism" even when discussing fucking ISIS. I'm so tired of him pussyfooting around and refusing to acknowledge the ideological reasons why these people kill.

It bothers me how they're not even willing to discuss homophobia in Islam, especially when Muslim-majority countries are the most homophobic in the world. Why are they so desperate to align themselves with an ideology that, on the whole, thinks they shouldn't exist? I understand that there are gay Muslims and Muslims who support LGBT people, but I'd go so far as to say that Islam is currently the most homophobic religion in the world. I dunno, it just seems like when you compare your average homophobic Christian to your average homophobic Muslim, the Muslim is more hateful.

Calling the guy a psycho is fitting since he did go into a club and murder a lot of people. Saying he isn't a psycho means what the hell do you label him in light of those actions then? The downside with an event like this aside from the loss of life and a violated sense of security means having people go onto their social media hugboxes and rant how this guy being called a psycho is ableist and offensive.

They do it by saying stupid shit like "don't call the guy a psycho" or trying to bring up shit like how this is related to "fetishizing guns in video games". (Not kidding with the last one since someone posted tweets of McIntosh saying gun culture in video games have something to do with this).

Edit: Credit to @*Asterisk* for finding those McIntosh tweets since that fits well with the "Look at me" foolishness.

At least the Catholic church in the last few years has made major efforts to have better psychological screenings and vetting processes to let men into the seminary. It's incredibly sad that it took what happened to make it happen, but don't deny that they haven't done anything to deal with it. Get your facts straight, at the very least.

Homoantagonism may as well be antagonizing homosexuality but then again, is that even a word? Still, this tragedy only ends up being a tool for some people to use in pinning the blame on something and in the case of this nut, it's blaming two unrelated parties that have jack-shit to do with this.
