Terror Trouble in Orlando

MUST BE GAY TO MOURN.

I find it particularly interesting that a number of non-white (namely Latino, as it was "Latin Night") people were among the victims, & yet no one has expressed outrage over that.

Pfft people don't really care about latinos unless it's one of those typical tirades against Trump or left millennials shitting on Spain. You could pretty much sweep all of Latin America under a rug and nobody would notice...

Otoh, most South American countries are pretty homophobic themselves, so maybe these folks would say they "had it coming" or something. Dunno, one of their typical mental gymnastics.

Brace yourselves, Kiwis. I think I may have found an especially dumb one.

And it came from DailyKos - specifically a buddy of Margaret Pless - because of course it does:

Emphasis Mine said:
There are many causes for what happened last night. The family of the perpetrator, and his ex wife, are saying that he wasn’t particularly religious, and that he absolutely hated LGBT people. So homophobia is a cause of this. The easy access to firearms is another cause of this. There’s breaking news about ISIS potentially, so that conflict might have something to do with this. There are other causes as well.

But the people who hate us, who pass bathroom bills against us, who provided the legal protections to the terrorist allowing him to acquire the weapon of war he used against us in Orlando last night, who themselves are complicit in this act through their reckless and irresponsible policies, are now trying to use our dead as a way to attack Muslims.

It is a desecration of our dead, and an attempt to hide their own complicity in this, and every other mass shooting they have enabled by guaranteeing that the tools of mass murder are widely available.

This is the worst terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11.

It happened at an LGBT club, on Latinx night, during pride month.

It was an act of hate. And the GOP and their idiot leader are trying to use this act of hate to create even more hate. They don’t care about us, but they’re happy to use our dead bodies as a cudgel to beat the US Muslim community.

Well you know who the highest-elected Muslim leader in the us is? Kieth Ellison, co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. He’s an ally of the LGBT community, he fights for us, for marriage equality and for the rights of all. He, and a great many of the Muslims I follow on social media were expressing shock, horror, and outrage before anyone knew who perpetrated this attack.

American Muslims are standing in solidarity with us, and have been all along. Just like American Catholics, Protestants, Atheists, Pagans, and a myriad of other groups. And every one of those groups has problems with Sexism and Homophobia, just like any other group. And we’ll call it out when we see it, because we all have places where we need to be better.

But we won’t let the GOP, the Klan, and other white nationalists use our dead to attack our allies, divide us, and stir up bigotry and hatred. This was an act of hatred. Let us sow peace in its wake, not create more bigotry.

CodePink DC has called for a Candlelight Vigil tonight at the White House, at 8:30. I’ll be there. There’s also a rally at the capitol at the same time, which I may attend as well. If you search twitter or Facebook, you’ll find a rally or vigil somewhere nearby. If you can attend, please do.

Straight allies, if you’re outraged, if you’re upset, keep saying so. Knowing that you have our back is important.

I won't deny that this guy may, at one point, may have meant well, and may, in his own retarded way, once might have been advocating for some level of sanity - don't get swept up in the hate, don't go knee-jerk, etc. Thing is, we know better by now - this is Ollie Garkey, the same faggot that said that Veerender Jubbal dindunuffin when he got slapped for race-baiting by Twitter.

See, fact is, we know the details by now - this guy is advocating from the depths of the Progressive blogosphere, and whatever may start as a good intention quickly will turn into apologia - which is exactly where we are here. Once again, they go immediately into HOW DARE RIGHT WINGERS COMMITT SUCH ISLAMOPHOBIA when we all know now that this horror was committed by a fucking Islamic extremist.

Note the immediate demonization, conflating the KKK with this incident despite having nothing to do with it. Note the virtue-signaling. The post itself is thus mostly an attempt to coordinate, within themselves, this current state of affairs.

I get this feeling that these people could have their entire family taken out in a suicide bombing and they'd be weepingly apologizing for somehow besmirching the name of the prophet Mohammed.

I imagine it must be frustrating for the gay or tranny people that doesn't have the same political ideology as them. I'm all for not going all /pol/ to random muslims but maybe this activist groups should realize how ideology distinc are muslims groups with most LGBT advocacy groups.

The rest of us are considered "alt right".

50 people just died and tumblr is already trying to mold it for a excuse for their bullshit. I honestly was mourning for those who did lose their lives in that bar, but I just had a second feeling that tumblr would pull this shit off. Missing the real point. It gets exhausting seeing bullshit like that.

Tumblr (and Twitter) tards will milk anything for attention/pitybux/advancing their cause, no matter how tragic. Unfortunately this includes shootings like this. I was actually wondering last night in chat (while watching the livestream) how long it would take for them to latch onto it..

The amount of agenda pushing, censorship, and the absolutely insane amounts of sympathizers for this violent group just makes me feel frustrated and angry.

It really feels like this entire world is going to hell.

The only thing that keeps my faith in humanity alive is the fact that there are people who are actually doing something productive about this like donating blood to the victims.

The Jester wrote up a post on how twitter has been hindering US authorities from monitoring these nutjobs.
Now don’t misunderstand me, an onlooker could be forgiven for observing Twitters’ stance on equality and ‘Freedom of Expression/Speech’ rights between and for all the users of its’ platform as admirable, whether they are members of a foreign terror organization or your little old Grandmother who can’t stand lemons and anchovies. It’s also worth noting that every now and then they do go on a rampage – suspending active ISIS accounts, which could be argued as counter-productive by those in certain circles that rely on those accounts for intelligence collection, if you know what I mean? I’m sure Twitter would land on the same side of the fence as Edward Snowden with regards to this. But again they are forgetting that these targets who Twitter allows to use the platform are foreign nationals, and part of a terrorist organization, so again, it’s NOT unconsitutional to monitor them.

But that’s not all….

Recently we have seen a bruh-hah-hah erupt over Twitters’ FUCKING DUMBASS decision to ban US intelligence agencies from using the DataMinr software (a private entity) which analyzes PUBLIC tweets to predict and detect terror attacks because Twitter is ‘concerned about the optics’ of such a relationship. In addition to this, many of you are aware I myself have spent the last 8 months plus in my spare time and at my own expense, developing my own solution called ‘InternetAWACS‘ (iAWACS) which listens for and maps Twitter for Jihadi Chatter, Active Shooter Situations, and much more. Well guess what – at exactly the same time Twitter decided to cut the Dataminr service, a completely separate entity to my own solution, iAWACS also went dead. I had developed SIX nodes listening for various traffic online, here’s a screenshot of it in action, geo-locating an ISIS account holder that frequently traveled between Indianapolis and Lafayette:

iAWACS analyzed PUBLIC TWEETS and determined lots of things like geolocation, current sentiment, users criminal willingness, propensity for violence, trustworthyness, and a bunch of other stuff. None of this information was obtained from anything private messages. It was simply analyzing PUBLIC DOMAIN information that the target had pumped out themselves. No privacy breaches, no civil rights infringements.

I was going to point you guys towards checking this out, but its dead right now. Its a tool where you can following trending twitter topics and users, mostly designed to track down jihadis. I recommend checking this tool out if it comes back online.

I wish the alt-right idiots on Reddit would stop upvoting this shit on KiA. Most of the Orlando-related news they keep fucking posting has got nothing to do with videogames.

Okay, so they've been censored in other places like /r/news when they posted on this issue--So fucking what? They can't create their own board or subreddit instead of hijacking an existing one? It's extremely annoying how guys who don't give two fucks about videogames treat KiA and GG-related boards as a dumping ground for off-topic, politically-charged shitposting whenever they find that they can't do it elsewhere.

It's like the "no politics" rule on KiA is practically non-existent to them.
