I'm surprised no one has mentioned the other thing these people do, which is to completely take Lolita at face value. They also post this shit in the 'Lolita' tag, which usually has dresses.

A tad off-topic, but the Lolita community is very aware of the whole DD/lg thing, and they use the word 'ageplayer' like other communities use 'cuck', which is often and never in the right context. If you check the /cgl/ archive, and put in ageplayer, it's mostly just insults to coords about how ageplayish their dress is.

It's funny because Nabokov made it pretty clear what an unreliable narrator and sociopath Humbert was. He was incredibly disappointed that people thought it was a love story rather than realizing that, ya know, pedos are bad, m'kay?

Technically, Humbert was an ephebophile, not a pedophile. He liked pre-pubescent girls, old enough to be out of pull-ups and cut their own food but young enough to not have breasts, periods, or a certain degree of modesty. The "LG" players seem to act like toddlers or pre-schoolers, not "nymphet" age, so it's even more dumb as fuck that they're fixated on Lolita.

Precisely. Especially since it's clear when you read the book that Humbert is telling this story in writing to try to defend himself in court for what he's done. Some of the phrasing that show he is readily apparent how wrong it is, that he just doesn't care (again, the story's framing device is him trying to defend himself to a court), and much of the stuff about "nymphlets" is him trying to justify fucking children. He even notes at one point that Lolita doesn't understand sex like an adult would and sees that as something that is an adult thing. He also goes in his mind on about how he wants to use Lolita to fuck her, have her have a child, then fuck the child.

It is also helpful to know that Nabokov loathed Freudian theories and the excuse that "well, I got stuck at x development" in adults, and that's part of Humbert's defense. It's also helpful to know that the story is set when Freud wouldn't have been considered complete idiocy to use . Incidentally, though Freud's heavily discredited in psychology, it is common in fiction to use Freudian theory because most authors don't understand how wrong it is.

I wonder how big the influx of littles to Lolita communities really is. I've heard some terrifying stories from several local comms and I've already seen comms getting infested with sissies (but a part of me still hopes that all these littles don't have the spine to live their fetish in the real world)

The past two years I haven't been active as I have not had appropriate funds for the fashion sadly, but for about four years prior to that I've been an active member on both my local and online comms. These people are everywhere. Used to be they'd post on the "burn book" (lolita secrets on live journal) seeking support due to /cgl/ ripping littles and sissies apart. Rules regarding drama was more lenient back then too, so basically threads on this shit was allowed and they'd all post their experiences on these kind of folks but never doing anything about it. For a while people solely hated sissies but eventually started hating certain prints by very popular expensive brands because age players ate them up.

Best example is "dreamy baby room" by Angelic Pretty. The set came with a bonnet and at the height of this drama.

Almost everyone claimed to hate this print because it came out at the prime time littles were becoming super active on the lolita tags on Tumblr and people became more aware of it. Lots of chicks claimed they had people mistake them for such people during meetups.

I could sperg on but all in all some people really into the fashion are actually age players (or claim to be online. Whether they were out to just rustle jimmies, nobody knows), but the majority still hates both DDLG shit and sissies.
