Nope, never made it into the DSM V or the DSM V-TR update. CPTSD is not an accepted diagnosis in the US.

Also, Dave doesn't seem to understand that in court he will literally have to prove that the property he is claiming 1) Actually exists as his property, and isn't a delusion of his meth and medication addled mind 2) Is actually at his parents residence. I highly doubt he can prove either.

For the lawyers here, please correct me if my understanding of procedure is wrong, but all the judge can do is order an "If it exists, and if you have it, turn it over". All Dr. Joe has to submit in return to the court through his lawyer is a sworn affidavit saying something to the effect of "I, as well as a neutral third party, searched the relevant areas of the premises and no such property could be found. At no time, to the best of my knowledge was such material present on the premises and I, as well as no other party, have removed or disposed of said property from the premises." and that will be the end of it. If the judge has a strong suspicion or has material proof that he is lying, which I don't think the judge will or have proof of such, as there is no reason to believe an upstanding and accomplished individual such as Dr. Joe would do such a thing, he could order a search of the premises by relevant authorities. However, unless I am mistaken, the search would necessarily be limited to the area previously inhabited by the plaintiff as well as any common areas, unless Dr. Joe willingly provided access to other areas of the premises. I don't doubt the judge could indeed order a wider search of the premises, but if I'm not mistaken, that would take real material proof that there is a better than not chance that the objects in question are warehoused somewhere else on the premises not covered in the initial search. I also find that highly unlikely.

Dave could always claim that the property was improperly disposed of, and he deserves the depreciated cash value of said items in compensation, but unless I'm wrong, he still has to meet the two criteria above 1) Actually existed as his rightful property, and isn't a delusion of his meth and medication addled mind 2) Was actually at his parents residence, as well as prove its disposal. Again, I highly doubt he will ever be able to meet the relevant burden of proof for the court for either.

Given the above, I believe Dave will walk away from this case as he does from all things in his life, as a defeated loser with nothing to show for his efforts, having wasted his parents money yet again on nonsense.

He's applied for disability benefits and claims they've taken months if not years to get back to him. This is not normal procedure in Western Commonwealth countries (Canada, Australia, UK, NZ) Americans familiar with their system can you confirm if this is more of Dave's bullshit? I strongly suspect he could be collecting disability already.

He would never clear the hurdle of being disabled. It is a very high burden of proof. People with real, serious disability get turned down because the need to keep the fakers out with such a high bar is absolutely necessary. People like Dave and Rioley The Dog are what keep the bar so high that actually disabled people are denied benefits initially. It's disgusting. But, of course, Dave is the victim here, not the people who are truly disabled. IANAL, and Judge Judy might not be the greatest example, but on her show, the process is similar to what you envision.

She'll go through the list of property being allegedly held by the opposing side item by item and ask if the other side has it.

• If the person has it and brought it to court, the bailiff takes it and returns it on the spot.
• If the person has it but didn't bring it to court, Judge Judy promises to issue an order that allows the person to be accompanied by an officer/marshal within 5 days to retrieve the property.
• If the person says they don't have it and she has no reason to doubt the statement, she simply says, "Next!"

With as much as D makes stuff up, who knows what possessions, if any, dad has. If I had a deadbeat kid such as D, I'd do anything in my power to rid myself of said kid and kid's stuff and get video proof of such. In short, I think this is little more than D blustering in an effort to get sympathy, pity points, and asspats.

Any doctor willing to write up paperwork that someone is disabled when they really aren't would get prosecuted for a crime and lose their medical license. No doctor would reasonably ask another doctor to do this given the risks involved, unless somehow lives were literally hanging in the balance.

As much as it looks like Dave is doing meth, I really don't think he is. I don't think Dave has done anything other than weed, maybe shrooms, and prescribed medications. Remember, he grew up both the child of doctors and very bougie...he wouldn't trust drugs made in someone's dirty basement lab. Quoting isn't working for me right now, but to the person asking about disability in the US... The reason why it's taking so long for Dave is because he's attempting to get disability on the basis of mental issues, not physical ones. There are people who legitimately need disability who get denied & have to appeal, which takes a long time, but everyone I've ever known to have real disabilities have gotten approved fairly quickly, even if the issues had a sudden onset. "Spoonie" communities like to say everyone gets denied the first time, but that's because they're malingerers or munchies. If your disability can be easily proven/demonstrated, you'll get it within a few months. It might be slower now post-pandemic because everything is slower nowadays, but if Dave had a real disability, he'd be getting a monthly check by now.
