Lucas is a person that thrives on attention good or bad, if people forget about him and move on they will never comeback unless he keeps upping his retard behavior. The issue with this strategy is that Lucas is forced to act like a horrible asshole to everyone and everything around him. Eventually no one will put up with him since he ends up treating everyone so poorly.

This is why having real support is so much better than garnering attention through outrage. If people just like you for who you are then they will naturally want to go to bat for you when you need it. For example take Null, everyone stuck by him and came back to the website despite it going down for an extended period of time, he treats people fairly and is genuine so we all want to help him out as a result.

Once people like Lucas start to decline there is no coming back, he had his time in the spotlight and through his own behavior wasted it.

If they're still in the process of planning the trip, which I will assume takes some time to do, then I imagine the intention is it will be ready to go when Lucas finishes rehab as his comeback event. Seems more likely than doing it as something to do while off the internet as part of a rehab cover story.

Also, for the donation money, when he first revealed that in August, it was supposed to be a "legal fee" to held fund his jihad against the Farms, so I don't find it surprising he changed what it is for.

I can only guess though and we only have vague details without solid confirmations to go off of when speculating this stuff. We are mostly just waiting for him to return.
