I watched a video where a 17 year old boy said his father had already died for this shit then killed himself after showing his conscription summons, saying he didn't want to die in a trench or survive as a cripple. This is a very bad sign for Ukraine. it is dead as a nation. It will never come back.

Its a connecting crossroads for 4 main highways. its honestly not the most important place in the world. but Wagner has managed to set up conditions so that the AFU have to keep dumping men and material into the sector. unfortunately for the poor fuckers in the AFU, modern news and political types have turned it into a propaganda story and they have to suffer for it.

Its the high ground in that region and was the main nexus point for logistics as well. It was also a "fortress" for Ukraines operations in the region and would have been the forward position Ukraine could push into Donbass.

Ukraine strategy is all about getting the west to escalate via sunk cost mindset. All those contracts with Blackrock, Monsanto? Et cetra. Helps convince the powers in DC to keep committed. Getting a bunch of troops killed so they can say boots on ground are needed might be why.

Have you not heard or forgotten what happened in Mariupol in 2014? They tried to join the DPR and held a referendum, but the Ukrainian government deployed tanks and crushed the protesters and then set up the headquarters of the notorious Azov to serve as warders, and to a lesser extent the same happened in Kherson and other eastern cities.

They can't tell Ukraine in the open to surrender, Z also fears declaring surrender and getting lynched. Maybe they want to bleed Ukraine white faster (perhaps even subconsciously, I think a lot of this shit is more emotional and less coordinated than people think) so that it's over faster and they can surrender while "saving face".

The thing is if Ukraine falls. That is a loss of face to NATO. And just emboldens Africa and Middle East more to say fuck you to the west. Never mind the fact it will raise the question in Europe, why they fucked, their economy long term.
